Some of my most fun experiences on videogames have been in co-op. Streets of Rage 2 its a great game but quite frankly I can get bored after 3 or so levels alone, with a bro though it's so much better especially when you "accidently" use your friend as a missile to knock down a group of enemies.
Co-op is also the only reason I still play Dynasty Warriors at all. Just something about having a bro to play with and compete for kill counts with is great.
Timesplitters games were always much more fun on 2 player, even the story modes improved vastly just by having a friend with you. I don't even like Halo but co-op'ing the story mode is something I've always done with friends.
NOTE: Co-op play is always better when you're in the same room, split screen might narrow your view but actually socialising with a person makes up for any view on screen that's lost.
