No, because even if you had the best talent in the horror industry work on Pokemon horror it would not work. The terror of horror would be suffocated by the hilarity one experiences when they see killer Pokemon.

Most would find a psychotic Pikachu carrying a blood hatchet to be hilarious rather than creepy.
We can get the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni people to make an anime version, and the fans can make a collaborated video game version. The point is to be a spoof, but also be scary.
Yeah but it wouldn't be scary. I could honestly never be scared by a blood thirsty caterpie.
Then you would be seeing the spoof aspect of it. Which is my plan exactly.

it could easily be done, there's enough potential for dark and desturbing creatures. but i dont think nintendo would ever sacrifice the cute and cuddly motif

No. Simple as that. This is Nintendo we're talking about here, not Konami.
What if fans were to acquire rights/permission to create a spoof? I sure as hell would buy/watch it.

I think I should write all this stuff down and make a script. I might make a youtube video with this stuff with my friends. Its just so unbelievably awesome.
I can write a script over the summer and try learning to animate and script. I think it would be best to make it of highest quality, with no "test runs" so that the rest of the world will never see it coming.

Good question.
I am glad to see another person interested in this idea.

Pokemon has done horror before. One word.

Missingno!
I found a Pokemon called Foxdemon. It only appeared once, and after attacking it, all my Pokemon fainted, resulting in Ash "Whiting Out."

Pokemon horror? I can only imagine some gengar or other ghost pokemon going on a rampage in some old run down house...
Eeh... like a Full On Pokemon Revolt?

Been out of the forums for a bit, but I think that this could potentially be a great product, as it targets the teen audience who grew up with Pokemon. It might even deserve its own card game...

It is a horror. It's still on.
*BING* Idea
You know how they are sucking the blood dry from the Pokemon franchise, well what about putting in some Blood Suckers? Like a Vampire Pokemon that feeds on Humans?

Could Pokemon possibly work in the context of the horror genre? Absolutely--just think for a moment of some of the concepts in the games, and realize how disturbing they actually are: animal cruelty, kidnapping, shady organizations, etc.

Will it ever be done? I certainly hope not; I like the games as they are.

But it'd still be on.

They did it in the first game (Lavender Town) and they're trying it in the new one (Torn World)

Buhjeezus, Lavender Twon still scares me to this day.

All they'd have to do is make the attacks realist. For example; when a pokemon blows fire on another one or a person. Conflagration! Grisly deaths would be everywhere.
