I've just watched 'What Dreams May Come' and i cried at least twice. It was an extremely moving movie and i heartily recommend it to everyone.

So i'm just wondering what you guys think about people crying at films, and if there's any films that make you cry, and why?

It is alright for a man to cry at the movies if a good dog dies or almost dies (see homeward bound). Only manly tears acceptable besides having something in your eyes. Allot of stuff can get in a mans eyes.

If a movie affects you enough for you to cry then I see nothing wrong with people crying in movies.

Personally I find it hard to cry at movies, however I have came close to it a few times.

Eh, no movie has made me cry.

Some TV shows have.
But no movies (Mainly because I avoid those kinds of movies).

But yeah, it's ok.
If people boo at you, simply kick their face in.

Then they can't boo anymore.
Ha, i like that idea XD

What do you find makes you cry on tv?

It's OK for a man to cry at a movie . . . if he isn't a real man. Real men don't cry at movies.

Are we at home or in a theatre? It wasn't really stated but I'm going to answer for if it's at a theatre. If you are going to cry, that's fine, but no crying 5 year old style where the rest of the theatre wants to punch your face in so you'll shut up and stop interrupting the movie.

why would you cry over the actions of fictional characters in a fictional story? And even the "based on a true story" ones are overly dramatised. Hell, I find it even hard to cry over non-fictional people in non-fictional events. It has to hit immensly close to home for anything to move me to tears.

Yeah, I have no soul anymore...

EDIT: feel bad for the character, yes, but that's pity I guess, so no tears there. And cry proverbial tears over the quality of a work, sure, but that's not really crying, that's something else entirely.

Of course it's okay. I don't quite get why people feel ashamed about crying, it's just another way of showing emotion. It would be like saying 'is it okay to laugh at movies?'

Remove the stigma from crying!

A.I. is probably the saddest film I've seen, not only did I shed a few tears, I also just wanted to cry. Actually wanted to. Can't say that's a feeling I've ever had before.

Anyways, I really don't see a problem with anyone crying at a movie, people have emotions, it's pretty natural.
