There's been alot of complaints about Bane's voice in the dark knight trailers. I want to know if you escapists agree with this or not.

Here is one of the trailers.

IMO, his voice is a little hard to understand. It sounds kind of cool though.

Hmmmm. It IS a bit tough to understand, though maybe that was just a rough line delivery. It's not much to go on. Still, BANE!!!! BANE ROCKS!!!! WOOOOO!!!

Well if you notice, and correct me if Im wrong, he has something covering his mouth.

but since when was it a rule you had to understand everything a villain says.

So my answer is, it doesnt matter, it just adds to his mystique.

It is KINDA hard to understand but then again it might just be the video. It might be alright at the theater. And TBF I knew what he was saying.

Of the 3 seconds of him talking, I couldn't understand any of it.

Still sample size is a little small.

This just reminds me of when people were complaining about batman in the dark knight. I could understand him well but people still said he should stop with the gruff voice. Personally, I think it matches him quite good. Batman has always had a more serious and dark tone to his voice than Bruce Wayne.

Seemed like it in the little bit I saw. I'm not really buying Nolan's excuse that he wants people to be paying attention. What the hell else are they going to be doing? Unless he's talking about the people who troll everyone else at the theater, but they won't be paying attention no matter what. Make it easy to understand, man. That should be a no-brainer. Nolan's a great film-maker, but I could see that inflating his ego and causing him to refuse to budge on this.

Can't understand a word. At least Bale's voice is clear, and there's a reason for altering it.

But the voice is the least of my problems with this version of Bane.

^This. He sounds awesome, but yeah, slightly hard to understand. Depends on how much this one line is representative of the entire movie (I heard the same argument about Batman's voice and I didn't notice it for a second between both movies), how much he talks at all and how relevant it is to pick up on every single line he says.

Bottom line, it's understandable, just don't doze off, it's not what going to the theatre is for anyway. You wanna not pay attention, get the DVD, put subtitles on and watch it at home :)

Yeah it's sort of a little muffled but not that hard to understand.

I mean it's better than that weird batman voi.....wait...where's Bane's accent? He's from the Caribbean.

I think I understood that. ?When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die?? He is a bit hard to understand tho so I hope he is clearer than that in other scenes.
I never had a problem understanding batman, his voice just makes me want to laugh.

I'll wait until I actually watch the movie and decide.
Voice work can be redone, it really isn't that difficult.

It's not that bad, but it's not exactly easy to understand either.

Edit: It's not as bad as the dude in True Grit, man I had a hard time understanding him.

I couldn't make out what he was saying at all in the trailer. But, it's only a few seconds of dialogue out of context. It will probably sound better in the movie.

Maybe it could be louder, but other than that i was quite impressed. It sounded nearly exactly the same as classic bane from the 90's Animated series.

I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed this, but Bane is wearing Hush's coat. I mean it makes sense for Hush to be pulling the strings, Bane isn't really the "Scheming" type and Hush basically works thru manipulation and deceit using others to achieve his goals.

Yeah, it sounds pretty cool but a bit muffled. Evidently this was also a problem with the IMAX prologue that was released, people couldn't understand what our favorite Bat Breaker was saying there either.

I hope some post production Audio work amplifies it.

I didn't have much of a problem understanding it. Better than Bale's Bat-gargle, certainly.

Also, it saddens me that I can't watch these trailers without getting a little annoyed. My eyes just naturally roll when Selina Kyle brings up her "I am Catwoman and I am the 99%" bullshit.
