I assume you all the be reasonable people and hence I present a choice to you all. Next month I will have enough money to buy ether Dark Souls or Rage but not both. Would you kindly give me a hand in deciding which one I should buy?

Depends on which genre you like more. I haven't even seen either gameplay, but Dark Souls sounds like an RPG, which I like. And Rage sounds like an apocalyptic FPS action game. It really depends on your taste.
Did you enjoy Borderlands? Bioshock? Fallout? Then by all means go for Rage. It looks awesome and I have it preordered and I'm stoked on it...but if you like games that are supposed to be EXTREMELY hard and drain the life out of you...but you enjoy the challenge, get Dark Souls.

I chose depending on the Amazon credit given. Rage's $10, opposed to Dark Souls's $5 (with trade-in). I also chose Rage because I love id Software.
If credit isn't the issue, ask yourself which can hold you off the longer? Dark Souls is to be very difficult, meaning that your skill will either lengthen or shorten your time. I'm not sure what to say about Rage, but I don't think it'll have longer replay value than Dark Souls.
