The cow, i have been killed way more by the animals wandering around during the day than any of the night mobs. countless times have i been pushed off a ledge or into lava because a random cow spawned behind me and gave me a bump off.

OT: I think spider jockeys because they can do both close and long range attacks, and they can also climb up walls like ordinary spiders. Luckily I've only seen one spider jockey so they're pretty rare, which means they're only a threat if you're unlucky enough to run in to one.
I actually don't play Minecraft on any else monster level than peaceful, as in: there are none. I would just build myself inside blocks of cobblestone for the night-time and wait it out if I had monsters there. And I mostly just like to build. There isn't much for me at least to just wait around doing nothing during the dark. And the night-day ratio fails quite hard.

Turn my back for a few second and they jump up and push me down into the volcano, and I lost all my stuff. Spiders can climb up walls, you need a block jutting out at the top to stop them climbing over (they can climb directly up a smooth face, but any overhang will block them)Angus565 said:
I don't find any of the monsters all that easy. Zombies seem to do a lot of damage very quickly when they get up close, spiders jump at you and normally manage a couple of hits before you kill them, skeletons have ranged weapons and creepers blow everything the fuck up.
Creepers are however the only ones that can approach silently and kill you before you know what's happening, so I guess they're the most deadly.
