Did anyone else here play Deadly Premonition? If so, what didi you think of it, and please avoid spoilers, I'm not done playing yet.

I'm not that far into it, so I doubt there's anything I could possibly spoil, but yeah; it's a fantastic piece of gaming. It's nice to see a developer utilising bad game design in such a way that makes a game good.

I really want to play it but lack a 360, it sounds and looks interesting, I'm a huge fan of the dark/black comedy and love horror games so it sounds like my kind of game. Kinda missing out.

One of the best games I played last year...

Getting every little thing made DP frustratingly great... The only problem I had with the game was the fact the achievements were not stackable...

Fantastic game, so much bad design that it actually turns out as a masterpiece.

I haven't played it, but by the looks of the game, it looks NEET
The enemies look like cut out monters, and when they die, its just hilarious!
The best part is the laser from the gun, sure its a bit like RES4, but when you aim at the enemy, the reticule gets bigger, for easier aiming.
If only it came out for PSN, I could try it out :(

The shooting was bad, the driving was bad, the graphics were bad, the voice acting was bad, the plot and characters were crazy at best and dumb at their worst, and the music was often ill fitting. As a piece of game design, it manages to do just about everything wrong.

Anyway, I'm about to start my third playthrough to do all the sidequests. While they got just about everything wrong, it's refreshing to see something with such love and ambition put into it by the design team. one of my favourite games of last year, and the best £13 I've spent in a long time.

This is it exactly. It's almost as if the game is a deconstruction of the various genres that it uses and says "This is the stuff we grew up on. Yes it's bad, but see how a badly made game can be fun if the badness is controlled and done in a good way?" (Yes, I know that being a well made bad game seems like a paradox, but if you've played Deadly Premonition you understand completely)

It's in my top 5 games of all time. It goes beyond "it's so bad, it's good". Surprisingly, the gameplay starts off terrible but seamlessly (and gradually) gets better. The off-beat humor that sucks you in will eventually get pretty heavy. Even the graphics gradually get better. This probably has to with the development time, but it works. At first you don't know if you're laughing with it or at it, but in time, you find that it's enthralling and a shit ton of fun, mixed with blatant Twin Peaks rip-offs.

Also, "I don't want to die."

I loved the game, I really enjoyed the characters, monsters, multiple plot twists, and the great ending. A good game, but a really long one. I never really saw how the gameplay was bad though, it plays the same as RE4 (which people praised) and you get used to the cars pretty quickly, although I won't make any excuses for those.

Ive played all the way through it twice so far and its a good game in both playthroughs. It has a ton of bad aspects in it but everything meshes so well together that it creates a really fun game. The thing I enjoy the most about it is likely the characterization, everyone in the game that Ive met has a deep and interesting personality. Granted some are wierd and others are totally nuts but thats not a deal breaker for me.

From my point of view I look at DP and think its more of a parody then an actual game thats trying to be taken seriously. The price tag of $20 also helped. I dont mind paying $20 for a bad game but when I pay 60 for a AAA game that I hate then I get mad
