I was wondering, with social games taking off, and players ranging from housewives, to MMO players, cutting across age groups, is "Target Audience" relevant anymore?
Or when pitching a game, we just have to say "Everyone". Dont get me wrong - there are still a few of us left who don't play social games, and stick to classic multiplayer games (Starcraft, COD, HoN, etc), but the market is growing so quick so fast, and with diverse audience - with many platforms, is it the death of classic core games?
Will there be a time, dreaded by all gamers, that big publishers looking at the profit they can make with social games, switch their main focus on those and stop making good ol' games for the consoles?
