If they remade the game (remade, as in, updated graphics/content, etc, not just a damn port), I'd buy it.
They have GOT to get rid of some of those retarded minigames, though. Fans of the game tend to forget these, but I have NEVER forgotten them. They're the factors that keep VII off my "best games ever" list. For example,
- Doing "squats" to get a wig.
- When you're breaking into Shinra Headquarters by climbing up through the wreckage of the Sector 5 plate. There's a point with a swinging pole, which you must jump onto. If you don't time it PRECISELY, you're sent right back to the bottom and forced to climb up again.
- The jumping dolphin in Junon. Similar to the previous one, in that you have to time it/position it EXACTLY, or you're back to square one.
- That weird CPR minigame.
- Tifa vs Scarlet slapfest.
- Surviving in sub-zero temperatures by repeatedly tapping square at regular intervals.
- That retarded submarine/motorcycle battle. (The motorcycle one's actually kind of fun when you play it as an arcade game at the Golden Saucer. The first time you do it, though, your party's HP is dependent on how well you do. Bullshit.)
- Stopping the train on Mt. Corel.
The sheer volume of retarded minigames they make you play is astounding.
