Poll: Demon's Souls Platinum. Got it?

Ok, so everyone knows about Demon's Souls by now (seriously, I think the martians are staying away just because they heard the game was THAT hard). Now, as someone who got the Platinum a while back and just picked the game up again because nothing I have played since has been half as good, how are my fellow Escapists fairing?

P.S. For you junkies, the character I picked it back up to make is the evilist toon this side of Firestorm spawn camping. The usual Fatal Estoc + Cloak + Backstab anyone? Also, I went the extra mile for the Sharp Uchigatana + Cracked ToB + Cursed Weapon option. All in all, its sick!

I've got the most trophies I could get in one playthrough(60%). The big reason I didn't bother to go for platinum was mainly the trophies which required you to upgrade your weapon to full with a certain stone. Couldn't be bothered to farm them if I'm honest.

I'm not even going to try the game. I've heard stories about how damn hard the game is supposed to be. Games, to me, are about having fun; being pissed out of my mind is NOT fun!

This, the game is hard enough as it is. Beating that game is far more satisfying than getting a platinum trophy in any game.

Plus no way in hell I am going to farm for the stones I would need.

Eh, I'm working on it. Although since my game keeps freezing like hell, I'm starting to lose steam on that deal. On the plus side I managed to get pure dark moonstone on my new PSN account and character. Now it's time to start farming for pure blade stone.

Indeed.. That game scared me... Granted it is one of the funnest games I own.. But... It makes me want to kill myself every five god damn seconds because I can't get anywhere in it.. I love and hate you demon souls.. Which is why I stay away.

Now, I may not remember all the Trophies well enough, but I don't think that getting a Platinum for Demon's Souls is really that hard.

From what I remember, half of the Trophies are for killing the Demon Bosses (including some that are off the beaten path) and the other half are for fully upgrading your weapons with the many different resources. I might be a lot of work, but I don't think it's too hard.

...Unless ofcourse a "No Deaths" Trophy that I'm forgetting.

I think I got my platinum 6 or so months ago(cba to check the exact date right now). I'm pretty proud of it, I love that game so much, that I just had to have the platinum.

It's my only one as well, but damn it took a while to get, especially that pure Bladestone from the black world tendency Black Skeletons in 4-2. I have about 100 hours logged on the game in total, but I could probably been done faster, had I decided to go for the platinum earlier than I did.

You're right, it's not ALL that hard, quite a few of the trophies just require a lot of farming. And what you said about the bosses is true, you get a trophy for each boss, so it's just beating them once, and you get it. Assuming you konw how to take them down that is...

And no, there's no "No Deaths" trophy.

I have taken down every Boss except for Old King Doran who I wasn't able to find.

But I do remember taking down that dragon clinging to the front of the castle: I was with a friend and we were finally able to make it to the entrance without being roasted. Standing in the doorway right under the dragon, we had a perfect oppertunity to take potshots at him from a safe spot. Still took a while to take him down though, about fifteen minuts. We were throwing every loose end we had at the son of a *****.

Yea, taking down the dragon the way you did it is, afaik the only way to do it. I did it with a blue phantom as well, but the one I summoned was pretty powerful so it only took 6 or 7 shots from him to take down the dragon. Was pretty awesome getting that trophy that early, since I was a low level myself at that point.

Regarding Old King Doran, what you have to do is kill Ostrava. He's very easy to miss, I didn't find him, only I went for the platinum trophy, since he was in an area of 1-1 what I usually skip, for some reason. Anyway, look at a map, here for an example: http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/ of 1-1 and you'll see where he is. The maps there are a little confusing at first, but take a good look at them, and you should be able to figure it out. He's after the first portal(you know, those swirley things you also pass through before a boss) and before the first boss.

Old King Doran himself isn't harder than the other bosses, so if you did them, you shouldn't have any problems with him just be careful. The way to activate him, is to hit him, until he turns hostile, and then just kill him. He won't be hostile at first.

You don't have to be pure evil, just the world (die a bunch of times in body form, Stones of Ephemeral Eyes help). They are tough fights, though.

Go for it! I never found pure blade all that bad. Just be sure, as always, to use the Demon's Souls Wiki (outstanding!) for tips. I recommend, of course, pure black WT, some sort of one hit kill (fatal, firestorm, etc) and running straight for the black, dual-katana skeleton just past the reaper in 4-2. He drops tons of chunks and, about once an hour, a pure.

Currently I'm just milling around, gaining souls and having fun.

Yeah I've been taking a good look at that wiki (it's where I learned the do's and do not's of pvp) and probably try for it. I'll probably just try to soul sucker the dual-katana skeleton to get a good deal of souls from all the farming I for see happening. Got another 3-4 play-through s before I finally get that platinum...assuming all goes well.
