It's telling that of the people in this poll who have an account, less than a third have actually produced anything. Or at least anything they're willing to call art.

No. I've only had a few encounters with DA, and the quality control there is insane. Some of the photography especially is lovely, but then there are MSPaint doodles and crazy Sonic slash that people are uploading onto a site called DeviantArt, and then I lose faith completely.

Also, about 70% of it is composed of (varying degrees of quality) anime, which I really don't like. So...not the place for me, I'm afraid.

I've been on DeviantArt for more than a year now, and I really like it there. I think it gets a far worse reputation than it deserves, because I've never come across anything terrible or disgusting by mistake. I'm sure the people who complain aren't completely innocent of looking for questionable material.

Here is my page here, if you're at all interested. I have plenty of art on there: http://forgot-to-remember.deviantart.com/

I don't browse too often, but I've found plenty of great artists on there. MatttheSamurai is really fun to watch: he works with pyrotechnics, flaming weapons, and time-lapse photography and gifs.

I'll admit, though that a lot of the content there is fan art. Some of it's good, like a particularly interesting HTTYD comic by Duiker, but a lot of it is just uninteresting anime stuff.

This might solve that, I made it my self, should give you some hope for the site:

I happen to have an account (or two... *cough* ) --> http://lordnaraku.deviantart.com/ (I've been really bad at uploading shit lately, though - of course, in my case, it may be better that way...)

I still wouldn't really say I like deviantArt, though, 'cause the majority of the people on there... oh god...

I have one, I use it nearly as often as I use The Escapist actually, I dunno what all this about big ego artists is, I've seen nothing of the sort so far, everyone's rather friendly.

Too bad this is ignored by the mindless drones who look at "SonicxAmy" Shit.

The only reason Deviantart has low quality stuff is because it lets everyone post. Of course you're bound to find some people who aren't as skilled as others. Though, they may consider it art.

I do but never use it, my girlfriend has one for her photography though.
I'd link you but I don't think it goes with the rules.

EDIT: Ah what the hell, http://portia27493.deviantart.com/
Tell me what you think of her work if you decide to go on the link.

Stop looking at my comments Portia.
I'm not a photography expert, but it certainly looked nice.

Anyway, I have a few stories on there, but there not of a sort I'd like to share with the rest of the class. I mean escapist.

And I don't upload there anymore, because it keeps being a ***** about uploading, demanding a preview image when I select the category as literature, and when I put a preview image in the slot it indicates, it tells me not to give it images. Fuck it, I have better things to do than try and get the damn thing to work.

I don't mind DeviantArt. Once the Mature Content filter is up, things aren't so bad, and since most of my friends are art students/enthusiasts, they tend to congregate there.

So yeah, I do have an account: http://littlemisswistful.deviantart.com/ I upload quite a lot, but I'm not the best artist. It's mostly random character designs and brief attempts at other stuff, like photography or my occasional Twilight flame. Say what you like about that last bit, but making them is pretty fun.

I like to browse - and thankfully I seem to have missed the worst of what the site has to offer so far - but I don't have any particular favourites, and I usually keep my comments to myself. There's a lot of touchy people on that site.
