Definitely still interested. My brother and I pass Blizzard's HQ every time we come home from the gym, so Blizzard's current activities are often a subject of interesting speculative conversation for us.

I think Rob Pardo recently mentioned that Blizz is pushing hard to get D3 out the door by "the end of 2011". So, if we were to take this as fact (which we don't have to, but just for the sake of interesting speculation we will), we'd have to assume that we've got at least another 9 months or so of waiting before D3 would come at the very earliest. I think that long of a wait is definitely going to encourage me to work through my current back log of games in the meantime.

On the bright side, if i'm busy with other games D3 will probably fall under the radar for a while, so much so that by the time a release date is formally announced it will most likely be a pleasant and quite welcome surprise.

Yes I'm looking forward to it and it looks like we will all have to pay a Battlenet monthly fee when D3 comes out. If you have a WoW account, the bright side is this Battlenet charge will cover that game. So when D3 comes out, I'm back into WoW again... sigh.

Keep in mind that the first pic you posted was just a loading screen - essentially concept art.

Even so, I'll admit that the colours are a little vivid for a Diablo game. Maybe tone down the brightness, and you're good.

I'm excited because I want to see where they're taking the story. From what I understand, Diablo II removed any chance of the Three Dark Lords coming back to Sanctuary. And the trailers make is seem like there's something worse out there, so I'm excited. I've heard the theory that Heaven, and mainly Tyrell (is that how you spell it?) has been corrupted because of what happened with the World Stone, but who can say?

Also, they're rebuilding Tristram? Honestly? What townspeople in their right minds would want to go within fifty miles of that accursed place?

I'm about as excited for Diablo as I am about a reboot of FF7, not really. I mean Diablo was good fun, but I moved past it years ago. WHERE IS MY STARCRAFT 3?!

Hell yes I'm excited - it's freaking Diablo, a game series which has consistently managed to rock my socks. I have a feeling that their will be more rocking of the socks with this installment.

This is the first thing that popped into my head when I read the title of the thread. How depressing....

Yes, yes I am very excited for this. I guess them announcing it having the stupid region-lock that Starcraft 2 had would dampen my spirits a bit, but I'd get over it. Because it's still the goddam Diablo, and my body is ready.

I consider the hype for Diablo 3 to be like a fire that's been locked away in a room, starved of oxygen and information. So when Blizzard finally releases the game and opens the door, there will be a backdraft. Where other games are just sparks, Diablo 3 will be a fire ball.

Diablos 1 and 2 made up half of my childhood, so you could say I'm pretty excited about the third... I should really get around to fixing up my PC, though; really struggles with the new releases, y'know?

@Cheesus333 Firstly it doesn't look anything like WOW...at all.

Secondly I'm looking forward to it but I have reservations that the engine is going to be that impressive after all this time. They have been developing it for years. Surely at some point it's going to fall behind.

I think the art style is fitting for it to me it just looks like the old one updated to more realistic 3D I'm not entirely sure what your issue is with it? Did you expect it to look exactly like Diablo 2. Because as brilliant as it was it's kind of out of date now.

Last time i was excited by Blizzard product was around 2004 when WoW was launching. Since then they haven't really managed to keep me interested enough to make me squeal in anticipation. They aren't really known for innovation nor interesting new design conceptions - rather polishing an old formula till you can see your reflection in it. For me that is equal to boring. They don't really even have the storyline/plot edge to make it a selling point, so yeah, i'll probably get it at one point or another just to see how it looks, but not really on my priorities list.
