y friend said he was a pleasure to interview, a brilliant man but when he left he turned into what he called 'a prick', overhearing him speak to his manager wondering why he'd even had to bother with the interview. My friend was disgusted by the way Jared spoke about him and decided not to publish it, interviewing a more favoured artist; the drummer from This town Need Guns.
That's more like your friend is the prick really. If the guy didn't care about the interview and was just there because his manager told him to be, why should he be happy about it? Why should he have any respect or appreciation for some small paper that he himself never chose to have anything to do with in the first place? Because your friend's pride demands it?

I knew the song waaay before Borderlands. Didn't even realise it was used in it for months after the game came out (never played it). Though that being said I listen to a radio station that plays a variety of less popular music (though all of it pretty good stuff).
Almost exactly what I would say, except I never played Borderlands.

Why yes, I did KNOW (grammar people).

In fact I know a good portion of songs before game advertising uses them. Like (I think) Hey man nice shot by filler used in Bulletstorm.

not that Im hipster about it or anything.

I thought that song was so much older than what it actually is. The song is nothing new but I didn't know it was used in Borderlands.

and if you didnt play borderlands yet go get it! its awsome!!!
I must say this...

If you play it alone, Borderlands is merely decent...

But with friends....It is one of the best Co-Op experiences I have ever had the pleasure of playing. If you have at least one friend who is interested in Borderlands, then GET. THAT. GAME. It is amazing.

Oh, and yeah, the into song is REALLY freakin good. It fits the theme of the game perfectly IMO.

Yeah, I heard it before; I just don't know where. Because when I first saw the borderlands commercial with that song in the background, I had thought to myself that the song sounds very familiar so I definitely had heard it somewhere else. I saw that commercial way too many times all over the place so it was a constant reminder. I remember seeing it during the midnight launch of AC2 at gamestop and some guys started singing along.

Yup. Heard it a bunch of times on the radio before Borderlands. When I heard it in Borderlands, I was like, "Oh, that's pretty cool.".

That's pretty much the only Cage the Elephant song I like, however.

I heard it in borderlands, but I had heard of cage the elephant before that. I just hadn't heard that song. After borderlands came out I checked out the rest of their songs and I loved them! They're still one of my favorite bands.

I saw Cage the Elephant live quite some time before Borderlands, and they played that song.

They were horrible.

The song was kicking around on alt rock radio stations for a while before Borderlands came out.

"Did anyone here know of the song "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" before they played Borderlands"

Sorry, had to do it. It was bugging me.

OT: Yes I had. Heard it years ago on the radio.

I recognised it when I first played Borderlands, but I didn't "know" it, so to speak.
So I'll call this a yes.

I'm sure the answer to that question is yes...

But I've never heard it until just... very recently.

Yes, and it doesn't somehow make me better for hearing it before it was popular, nor did its success somehow taint it. I've never understood this indie-fag stuff. And I only ever use the word "fag" to describe indie notions, because its just the only word I feel is appropriate (coming from a gay guy no less).

Okay, a bit of rage at indie folks, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I'm tired of those types of people who think they're better than you because they knew something as trivial as a song before you did.

Country? You sir are wrong! Anyway, I was vaguely familiar with Cage the Elephant before Borderlands came out. "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" and "Backs Against the Wall" were on my playlists. I never listened to much outside of that, I've heard some of their new stuff on the Alternative Rock station/radio on my mom's cable and it seems alright. I don't listen to too much stuff like that these days...
