So,

I Just want to get the general opinion on the new Command and Conquer, I would like to find out if the new style of game play really was for the best.

Personally speaking, I played C&C series ever since it came out in 1995 and have fell in love with the series ever since. With the new C&C, I have been getting different opinions regarding the game play, some people loved it because it was innovative and challenging and others hated it because "it was nothing like the original" so to speak.

So I want to get your opinion regarding the game play, to settle the arguement once and for all.

Thanks

Yes, no resource gathering, no basebuilding... they removed everything that was great in the previous versions.

Interestingly enough this are both games I'm considering buying, anyone care to give me a précis on both SupCom2 and C&C4?

I agree with the SupCom 2, while you can't really blame the dev for trying new things and take risks in a very competitive industry, but one really shouldn't try to change a winning formula.

Well the whole Dawn of War formula has been selling like hotcakes for Relic, can't blame another developer for trying the same thing.

I actually like it.

I didn't actually play it, but I have read some reviews and seen a lot of gameplay videos.
They basically changed everything C&C stands for and it's just C&C in name only. Huge dissapointment.

Same with SupCom 2 :(.

I'm glad to see so many others think like me. If you've got a decent formula of resource collection and harvesting, why change it to a new model that completely cuts that part of the game out?

Of course, you have to get the unit balance right as well - CnC3 failed on this part quite a bit in my eyes, what with the Scrin Motherships and the NOD whatevertheywerecalled - helicopter things that you could spam. Venoms? Was that it?

Regardless, every match I ever played I either spammed Venoms or had Venoms spammed against me. Because they could hit anything, fired like hell and were cheap (both literally and metaphorically, I suppose).

I've not given CnC4 a chance. I don't intend to.

What could be said about CnC 'If It's Not Broken - Don't Fix It', seems silly to change what made it's predecessors successful, that and the ending for Kane was very poor that made me cry alone.

I couldn't agree more, this latest installment completely warped my view on the industry. Seems like the more I play this game the more I want to go outside and punch a baby...

Yes I'll admit that the co-op is fun, but it seems like in their focus on multiplayer, the dev has completely neglected the single player experience, and a great man once said "Multiplayer doesn't make a game..."

I dont understand why you would make an ending and then throw in completely new gameplay.
yes, I agree. It was really a bad decision to start experimenting at the "END" of the series. It makes the dev look like they don't care enough about giving the series a proper send off. Which they didn't.

Gar!! I'm almost foaming at the mouth, and this is only after 1 day playing the game. Honestly, I guess I really should've trusted my instinct and not buy the game, but my inner fanboy told me to give it a try anyway.

Take a good look guys, here's a picture of a man slowly dying from the inside.
