No, the last 5 minutes of the game series did not retroactively get rid of all the enjoyment I had leading up to it, so I would happily play the trilogy again, and intend to.

The ending ruined Mass Effect for me in that fact that it ended. I have only really kept one save through the whole universe that I cared about, and when I finally ended the experience I just felt like there was nothing left in it for me.

So in a way, yes and no.

With the Extended Cut, I do feel a drive to play it again. Without it, I wasn't able to work up much enthusiasm to do so because I thought "The Galaxy is fucked no matter how much I do, so whats the point?".

So my replays won't be as regular as they were for ME1 and ME2, but I can see a whole trilogy play-through being a long weekend present to myself or something :)

I haven't played any Mass Effect game since I first finished ME3, the feeling is starting to go away though and I think I'll give it another go soon.

Now that I know what the ending is, No.
Why play a game if at the end you die in one of the most convoluted and contrived and one of (if not the most) pointless deaths ever?

It did for a few months but I got really bored and replayed 3. I even got the EC, I think it just turned a big shit into a shiny big shit but a month after that I got bored again (out of work right now) and I have played it again. I just turned it off as you run to the portal.

Sadly yeah, it kinda did. I've played ME1 and ME2 four or five times each and now I can't bring myself to start a new Shepard, knowing how it all ends up.

Infamous 2 had equally horrible endings, but I can still have fun with the gamplay and story of that series. I honestly dont understand how 30 mins out of the last game could make people so jaded they give up on the preceeding 200 hours of enjoyment.
It's simple - because that entire 200 hours was all building up to that one moment.

Yeah kinda. I was going to buy Leviathan and haven't done that yet, and at this point I don't think I will be buying it. It is less that the ending ruined the series for me and more I don't have the time to replay it again just to get to that ending again.

I'm currently playing the first Mass Effect again and enjoying as I did the first time.

However I'll be stopping at the end of the second game. It wasn't just the ending of Mass Effect 3 that I didn't like but pretty much the entire thing.

as long as the trilogy comes with the with the character DLC's and the Extended Cut Ending, I'd buy it.

I didn't find the ending terrible, it wasn't good, but it wasn't soul-shatteringly terrible.

It hasn't been long enough for me to say. Next year sometime I'll probably get the urge to marathon mass effect again. I hope that urge still comes...

Maybe because all through the series development we were being told "your choices matter" and then you get to that last 30 mins and realise that "oh wait they actually don't matter in the slightest".That last 30 mins makes every single choice that I agonised over utterly irrelevant as no matter what I choose I get the same shitty ending anyway

hmm, yes and no, I suppose. I do intend and replaying it, as other than the ending, I loved almost every second of ME3, and yet every time I try to start....I just don't. I end up playing something else or doing something for work, or just fuck all. I wouldn't put the blame entirely on ME3, though, as I really don't touch either of my consoles much anymore other than for co-op shenanigans with friends.

The sad part is I probably would've finally found that motivation to play the series again, on PC this time, if that ME collection actually had the goddam DLC included. But it doesn't, so probably not going to happen until my backlog is almost fully exhausted. Such a shame.

I have never seen a fanbase react so poorly especially after Bioware/EA released an extension to the ending to try to satisfy their petty gripes. I really do hope that these 'gamers' do live to their promises of not buying another Bioware game again, because I am disgusted with the hate and tired of hearing about it. Criticism is one thing, and no company is above it, but this fanbase has gotten childish and spoiled.

In my opinion; the quality was sorely lacking in the whole third game, not just the ending 30 minutes. There were still parts that were excellent reminders of what potential the game had, but I think the whole trilogy just slogged on uncaringly with most of that third game.

OT: Yeah, I'm unlikely to replay the trilogy now. Maybe in a while when I feel the need to play that type of game again; but I'm still afraid I'll just be left disappointed again and again by the last installment.
