Didn't you know? They also have a squadron, too. One of my favorite side-scrollers of the SNES era. I played the female pilot, mostly.
There aren't any female pilots in that game...

lmao captcha: "Problem, urojob?" (insert trollface.jpg here)
I thought there was a female pilot. Wasn't she a red-head?

@Srdjan

What ?

Are you talking about the same country as we ?
Because WE talk about a country wich the leader supported terrorism (lockerbie) and declared the djihad against switzerland because they had the nerve of arresting his son for beating people (SLAVES from his own country, locked in his villa) up ?
The very same son wich drove with 120km/h in a city where are only 50 km/h are allowed ?

And please people, we didn't declare war against lybia.
We established a no flying zone over lybia.

This should prevent gaddafi from bombing civilians. No ground troops will enter (for now).
I'm not a fan of this, in fact my country (germany) didn't vote for it.

Did they actually declare war, or just the no-fly zone? Because there is a difference, you see.

The Arabic revolutions may be some of the the most significant - and ostensibly positive - things to happen this century. In the meanwhile, Gaddafi (and some other states to a lesser extent) is using his professional troops to smother a potentially huge incipient popular movement - and isn't that what democracy is all about?

Besides, many nations - including the Arab League - support this action, so it's probably short-sighted to compare this to Iraq. Imo the protestors deserve our support, at least for what they represent.

I've been following this and it doesn't look like a full-on war to me, it looks to me like they simply approved sanctions such as a no-fly zone, but have stopped short of full-on military intervention. Anyway, without taking the time to read the entire story as has transpired during today, which I've not done because of student elections taking up my time today, I can't make a full judgement. Although I will quote verbatim something someone retweeted on Twitter earlier today in my feed, which I think sums up one side of the story quite well.

"The Stop the War coalition will be marching this afternoon to protest against a UN resolution that has stopped a war."

Yeah, I'll just leave that there with you... :p

I dunno. When I went on Google to find what you were looking for, I found on Wikipedia the 3 pilots' names and they were all described as male and all had male name: Shin, Mickey, and Greg.

Uhm...

You do know Gaddafi is a mass murderer, right?

He's killed at least 300 civilian protesters already (300 confirmed, some estimate it much higher) and has threatened to kill more if they resist (which they will, because that's what they do).

And while I can see why war is deplorable, revolution is definitely not. This should help the revolution, although I can sympathize with Germany.

Also, there is a difference between war and what they are doing. However, you are correct in that it could easily spark war (and Gaddafi has said himself that he will respond with violence in the Mediterranean, and probably more in Libya).

There's going to be a war anyway, whether the UN gets involved or not doesn't make much difference to that. Besides, I'm not convinced the rebels would win without aid, so I sort of agree.

If you want war with somebody you should accept being invader and bad and all, not hide behind some multilatteral organisation.

Libya didn't attacked anyone, didn't even threaten to, they were just resolving internal conflict, just like US did in civil war.

Those rebels were mostly criminals and foreign merceneries who lied to people about better life and money from west and pushed perfectly peaceful country into civil war.
...your kidding? hahaha.......seriously?

you relize that even before civil war broke out the government began having jets strafe protestors right? or were the protestors merceneries and criminals who lied to?

i havent read up on what lead up to the un doing this but to the op you are confused that the US is not the UN and just because the UN declared war on libya doesnt mean the US did and what are you talking about obama for, if the UN declared war on libya what does that have to do with him?

as a internet comedian once said "you are projecting so hard that you could show off powerpoint presentations"

edit: maybe its because im tired but i guess i didnt catch the obvious blame it on obama politics so just ignore the most of that post because to most people its obvious anyway
Now I wanted to state an opinion and not to argue with anybody because I didn't came here to change anyones opionion and you sure as hell won't change mine, but you outdone other.

Projecting part would refer to you because I didn't mentioned Obama and I mentioned US only for illustrations and because most people are retards and that is only civil war they know.

You just fucked up yourself preety good, and I wish you good night

And bonus hint creator of topic mentioned Obama and US just for you to know who to attack next time.

I actually think it took so long for the rest of the world to get involved, because they didn't want to give credence to the claims by Qaddafi that the revolution occurring there was a ploy by the West.

Personally, I think going in with the UN is the right thing to do, but I would not have agreed with more unilateralism by the USA -- especially in the Middle East.

It's a no-fly zone... with a provision to "use any means necessary" to prevent civilian deaths. It seems this is understood to mean the airforce can bomb government forces if they attack civilians.

Then I stand corrected! I played Shin most of the time. I dunno why, but I equated Shin as a girl back in my youth. Oh well, to be young and full of imagination, I suppose...

There are many dimensions to this conflict, it's just a matter of who looks like the bigger dickhead. Right now it looks like the dickhead levels are even, though Libya will surely be made into an enemy of the world thanks the media.

Soooooo yeah, you guys have fun realizing the that war never ends. I gotta watch my NCAA brackets.

you put an article up here, i called bullshit on it, just because you werent the one who wrote it doesnt mean that is exempted from discussion, you are the one who is responsible for it being here so i address you because i assume you agree with it

and if you are about to say what i think you are: it is not wrong for me to think you agree with that because unless a mental illness is involved usally people dont post things they dont agree with to draw attention to them, and lastly take a few steps down from your horse

I don't believe it, another war, isn't the United Nations Peace Council supposed to keep peace. Seems like the only thing they do now is approve of wars.

yes because he's slaughtering everything in his path.
what worries me is that it took this long. so there is definitely another motive involved for invading, whether it be to ensure the balance of power in the country is in the UN's favour or if it is for oil.

wait wait wait, I heard that there was a no fly zone put in place over lybia so Gahdfi's forces couldn't bomb civilian targets (which I don't think they were, not that I'd heard of any way) and suddenly mean we can invade?

Did I miss a step here or something cause last I heard was that a cease fire had been called between the two factions. I mean why on earth do we need to get involved? Sure he's despot that frankly I'd never heard of until now; so he can't be bad enough to warrant an invasion.

Oh well, not much the average Joe can do about it I've got better things to worry about than my government acting like it's playing a game of Risk after burning the rule book.
