Yeah, I'll second the too easy remarks. The game gives you tonnes of options, and unfortunartely, you rarely have to take them except to play a challenge run. By far the hardest stage is the first (both in gameplay, and because it has an eye-bleedingly ugly low polycount which doesn't work with the art style), especially if you're doing a no-kills run.

Loved it despite its flaws though. One of the best games I've played in a while.

The game's fun to play and pretty impressive in terms of art style and setting, but there's something missing. Maybe it's the uninspired story, or the fact that Corvo isn't much of a character, or maybe something else, but I still find it less memorable than Deus Ex or even Human Revolution.

All in all, though, yes, I enjoyed it. Favourite bit: Lady Boyle's party.

Eh, it's a good game regardless of what anyone says. You'll have fun playing both styles adapting the one that suits you more. However, if you're serious about a stealth run DON'T take Dark Vision, EVER! Use lean instead.
As for combat, feel free to go nuts and jump on them tallboys :D

Very enjoyable. Had a lot of issues, from the story to the difficulty to the confusing hub-city area but once I got into it I had great fun.

My main qualm with the game was actually the art design. I found the caricature style characters and the usually light, pastel-like colours just didn't match the games dark narrative and setting. It just didn't feel right. Couldn't enjoy the story either, pretty weak characters!

Loved it. I've beaten it 2 times already. First playthrough - I stumbled along the levels for a low chaos ending. Second was for the Mostly Flesh and Steel trophy and high chaos ending. I'm going for Clean Hands/Ghost hard setting on my third go around now. And I am trying not to check the PSN every 5 minutes right now so I can download the Knife of Dunwall DLC.

It has its weaknesses: cliched story, short duration, not enough 'fun' tools in stealth playthroughs. But I can forgive them because everything else about the game was so enjoyable.

I think it's an excellent game the first time around and really quite entertaining. It's short but that doesn't really hurt the game as much as you'd expect, due to the game losing steam at the latter quarter of the game. The locations and story start feeling less inspired and that's also why it doesn't hold up very well in consecutive playthroughs. But I remember loving it the first time around and the mechanics are solid and there's nothing more fun than finding multiple ways to deal with your objectives. It's just a playground really.

Yeah, it was pretty good.

I could nitpick it to death, but it was generally enjoyable.

I'd love to see them use the setting for more games.

Hello,

So i recently purchased Dishonored on Amazon for $30 new(should be getting it on Thursday). I have heard great things about it, but i want to know what this community thinks about it!
Got two missions in and never went back. Weird really, as I really enjoyed Bioshock - which Dishonoured makes no attempt hide the fact that it's ripping off, albeit with a greater focus on stealth - yet couldn't get into this one.

I thought it was fantastic. By no means perfect, of course; the moral choice system was a total waste of disc space, and the story ranged from insipid to downright laughable. But it's still probably the most fun stealth game I've ever played, and I found it an exhilarating change of pace when it finally got going.

You could easily find a million faults with it, and it's somewhat ugly, but I enjoyed it for what it was. To be honest, I felt it was a much better rental than an actual buy, but that said I rushed through the game a bit because I didn't really have much time to play it.

Its main drawback is the obtuse morality system. If you want a happy ending, it limits your capabilities quite a bit. The AI is pretty brain-dead at times too. If you can get past that though, you'll find a very solid game with plenty of replayability. I've also heard good things about its backstory tidbits hidden throughout the world, but I can't comment on that myself because, again, I didn't have a lot of time to play it.

The setting and world were wonderful and the moment-to-moment gameplay was good fun; however the game was too short, too easy and the robot NPCs killed the flow and story for me. In-between mission sections were a dull trudge.

Shame about those detracting points because they pulled it down from 'awesome' to 'eh, pretty good I guess' for me.

Yeah, I greatly enjoyed it. It had good stealth and more than functional action if you borked the sneaking up. It looks pretty damn good, even if the texture quality suffers a bit here and there, sounds great and for the most part, feels great. All that said, its piss easy most of the time even on hard, thanks to the massivly overpowered blink spell that you get at the start of the game, although you can complete the game without using it if your looknig for more of a chalenge.

I't was pretty boring when i tried to play it as an action game, but then i learned some skills for stealth and it became a lot better. I suggest you explore all of the options to take out your target before pickink the easiest one (stabbing him in the face for example). It's a lot more fun that way.

It has probably the best stealth I've seen in a modern game, and reminded me of Thief in many ways.

I did, but not at first. Really, before you've got a few abilities to call upon, this is a rather dull game.

It's good for at least two playthroughs, even if, like me, you aren't the type to normally bother with a second playthrough.

I played stealth/nonfatal first, and it was decent. Then I played it straight up murdering everyone, and it was a lot more fun, though also really really easy. Almost felt like I was using cheat codes. A couple abilities flat out break the game.
