I don't know about you but I definitely miss the click that putting a cartridge in my N64, Atari 2600, Sega, or *SNES provided. Now it's just a weird mechanical sound. Do you miss the nostalgia of cartridges?

*Screwed the pooch at first, I never had a NES, daddy didn't love me.

i miss the click

MY gameboy always gave me that satisfying tone of pleasure before starting out into a marvelous land of wonder where i could escape my hardships of every day life and the cruel people around me in the world not giving a damn about what i say and not understanding why i have to shut myself up with videogames

YOU ARE THE REASON MOM AND DAD! YOU ARE THE REASON I SHUT MYSELF UP WITH VIDEOGAMES!!! RARBARABURTGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh the smell of new plastic when you unwrapped it, read the manual and got into a game.

Well lucky if the NES you clicked it, it blinked at you so you did the pop in and out, blow in the bottom dance a few times. But yeah it was nice.

You know, I don't miss it at all. In fact, I hadn't even considered missing it. I like the sound of a disc tray anyway.

Well, I still get the cartridge in my GBA, so I don't lose it! ^^ Though my first console was a PS1, so my nostalgia doesn't involve cartridges.

Kind of. However, I don't miss having to blow air into them every time they crash!

[small]Now whenever they crash, I just have to call customer support! That's MUCH more bearable!!!

/sarcasm

*begin crying*[/small]

There was a movie called Click, it was about Sandler getting a universal remote that actually controls the universe, to an extent.

On Topic: I miss it now...

One of the responses in the poll was "I hated that movie."

Yeah I do, the clunk when you put it in an old NES and pressed it down into the system, the sliding of the dust covers on a Genesis and N64 when you slid the cartridge in followed by the soft click of it going secure in it little niche , I don't know why it just seemed so cool. The new systems that just grab the disk or you set it on the tray just dont have the same appeal. The Gamecube had something close with its center piece in the disk tray but its just not quite it.

Ahh you mean toploaders. Well they did make a toploading SNES style NES at the end of the consoles life...so it still counts.

Now that I think about it, there was something satisfying about that click, mainly for the Gameboy / Gameboy games in a DS. Just another casualty of modern-day video games.
