I don't find it annoying, but I don't approve of it because it takes away so much of the atmosphere of the crowd.
This. When I first heard of it, I figured "cool, cultural thing, nice way to let people know exactly where they are while they're watching the game", you know, makes a difference from having the tournament anywhere else. But from what I hear (and this is just hearsay as I have little to no interest in football), the African (and some other) fans used it a lot during the tournament just to mess up the opposing team's concentration... which imo is just poor sportmanship :\

On the noise of it itself... well, can't say I'm a fan. I hate bees and it makes a loud bee buzzing sound so 2 + 2 = me no likey. But that's just a personal thing :p

They're incredibly irritating. So much so, that I purchased several for birthday parties. Forget about singing Happy Birthday. Myself and six other people will vuvzela the celebration of your birthday!

After watching around three games, I got used of it. I do miss the chanting though.
This exactly. I guess it wasn't so much a bad atmosphere as a different one, but I appreciated the State of Origin's crowd that much more as a result of hearing the vuvuzela drone.
Yeah, it makes the chanting almost a privilege and not but a (good) constant occurrence at matches.

Where's the "No." option? I don't find them annoying, but I don't think they're beautiful.

Proper football atmosphere is beautiful and inspirational. Those horns utterly ruined the possibility to create authentic atmosphere for any nation.

*Turn up volume and enjoy*

I enjoyed not only for what they added to the game but what they added to gaming.
when I was being annoyed on a friends Xbox live, I used a friends Vuvuzela App to drown out the offensive shouting of other players

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. They sounded to me not unlike a very angry swarm of wasps in a tin can. And I heard that in South Africa, some kid decided to annoy his neighbor by standing in his backyard blowing one of those horns.
Obviously the neighbor shared my distaste for the horn; he shot the kid in the face. Supposedly.

I'm... aware of what they are, because nobody will shut up about the stupid things, but I've never actually heard one, so I can't tell you if they're annoying or not.
