The multiplayer is good, but the American servers have significant lag issues. My best friend has both the American and Japanese servers just so he can play on the lag free Asian servers. The lag won't affect most normal things like shooting people, but anything that knocks a character down (like grenades or the lvl 3 box run) will have then land in one spot but then randomly teleport as though they were knocked in a different direction. Seeing as my best friend loves box running and then knifing people (an OP strategy) it's pretty frustrating.

I really wanted to give it a try, but the installation of the Multiplayer seemed to last forever. After about 3 hours it still wasn't done, so I decided to not play.

I got halfway through signing up before the game told me that I wasn't old enough for it. That kind of killed that (and then I stopped caring enough to go back for it later).

No, strangely enough. I finished the singleplayer 15 times, but never even touched the multiplayer. It didn't seem the kind of game that would have a good multiplayer or indeed even should have a multiplayer.

Yeah. I play Metal Gear Online.

Fucking instant headshots... HOW DO YOU AIM THAT WELL!? I can aim decently, but fucking christ people...

It's just a shame that only Team sneaking is the only real stealth based mode.
Still, I play it every now and again.

I still play it. It's awesome. Not as accessible as the C.O.D. or whatever, but that's why I love it.

It has a multiplayer mode?

Granted. I never played the game but my slightly slow friend played it thru to the end in ~10ish hours.

I could never get into the game because Im no a stealthy person unless I wish to be

When the game decided I was a big boy now and locked me out of the low level training games I almost cried with frustration, the amount of instanta headshots I recieved. And when I joined some of the Survival and Tournement games: "Yakob has entered the ga-Yakob has been killed by a headshot."

I loved MGO BUT A PLAYBOY MAGAZINE SHOULD NOT BE AS EFFECTIVE AS A CLAYMORE AT DENYING AREAS!!!!

Metal gear solid 3 had multiplayer too at least that re release version had it, and many of those metal gear online maps were remakes of those metal gear 3 multiplayer maps.

Ot: Me and my friend played it a lot we played it for about a year about 3 hours a day and when that final expansion was never released we left.

Yep, I played quite a bit of MGO. Freaking awesome game, because it actually took some skill to get good at things like CQC and general combat (I actually watched a youtube video that gave very good tips and tricks). I got rather good at CQC and beat people in 1 vs. 2 matches, using a pistol and CQC only. pr0 skillz man

Haven't played it in a long time though, need to try it out again. I'll suck at it, of course. :p

I never knew that MGS4 even had multiplayer.

Oh well, it's not like I would have played it anyway.

For a game that suddenly added multiplayer, it didn't do too badly for itself. It wasn't the greatest experience out there, but it was different and somewhat fun. Single player is still where it shines though imo.

I used to play this game all the time. I loved MGO. Unfortunately, too many people glitch in that game and that really ruins the fun. If they could get rid of the glitchers it would be my favorite game by far.

I had no idea it had one... oh well, after the perfection that was MGS3, I thought 4 sucked balls anyway so doesn't matter to me

I played it for a couple months and really liked it. Well, Team Sneaking and Stealth Deathmatch, at least--everything else was too action-shooter-y for me. The stealth games, of course, were ruined by camping and blitzing, though, which happened about 85% of the time. (In Team Sneaking, it especially sucks because your stealth goes off when a teammate gets caught). And of course, there are the high-level douches who you *wish* you could make eat their words but, in all honesty, they truly are better then you.

What's funny is that after a long break of not playing, I came back to find the same level-obsessed players going on about how they used to be a "level 16 FoxHound" but de-leveled or something. If anything ruined MGO it was the level system... and the lag... and the players... and the glitches... among other things.
I have to say, though, playing as Raiden and Vamp is always fun. It made me really look forward to MGS Rising.
