I was helping a friend on portal (neither of us finished but i was much farther than him) and we got to the part when Glados asked us to lie down, put down the portal gun, and wait for some one to get us and bring us to the party, and i listened. I laid there for about thirty seconds before my friend took the controller and decided to shoot around and see what happened. So my question is, did any one else lit down and wait for the cake?

First time, no. I looked around for a way out immediately.

Second time, I waited for forever. Why? Well, because I'm a slight achievement whore and I somehow missed the fact that I did indeed get the achievement for making the correct party submission position decision. T_T

No.

That freak had just tried to fry me, no way I'm gonna wait for the party squad to arrive and incinerate me properly.

No, I didn't wait.
Seeing as you can't lay down in that game, but only crouch, I went straight to messing about and trying to escape.
And I ended up here :|
*Fire portal gun at the wall and runs at it*

I don't think I did wait, just because I knew it would be a trap. There's no such things as a robot that wants to party.

Umm...no. Didn't even hesitate to through that gaudy cube into the fire to progress, either. It was just a cube, which I quickly determined after listening for about half a minute when she was babbling on about how I'm going crazy if I hear voices. Hearing no voices, I promptly chucked it into a fire.

You get the achievement for making the 'correct decision', which is to escape and not assume the party submission position. Spent about 45 minutes waiting there before I realized I had already earned the achievement the first time around QQ

Yes, I wanted to see if any new enemies show up
Same. I placed one portal in front of the door, and another into the fiery pit.
Mainly because it took me ages to see the way out. I'm silly...

No, the moment GLaDOS tried to throw me into a flaming pit, I felt it was neccesary to take action rather than sit around waiting for cake...although I did hesitate for a moment. I mean I just can't say no to cake...

Nope, I didn't. I panicked a bit though. My brains lagged and for the first few secs I didn't know what to do. :D

But... when GLaDOS says that, there's a staircase right in front of you that you haven't explored yet. Also, I felt somewhat disinclined to follow her advice after her previous record.
