Poll: Digimon or Pokémon?

As a show, and general concept i greatly prefer Digimon. As a franchise though Pokemon blows it out of the water. For whatever reason digimon was never able to market itself the same way pokemon did. That probably has a lot to do with Nintendo's marketing behemoth. I do remember as a child really wanting a fully realized digimon game, but the only game i remember was terrible, nothing like the show at all. Also their traditional toys were awful as well, i remember wanting a toy digivice, but no such thing existed until i was long past caring.

My vote is for Digimon, mainly because when they tell me that the franchise is about Digital Monsters, I expect a couple of malformed and gruesome beasties as well as a couple hundred giant ones. Pokémon don't really look like monsters, maybe some like Muk and Koffing, but the rest just look like pets. When you advertise Pocket Monsters, give us some ugly beasties not cutesy-wootsey ones.

I like Pokemon for the opposite reason. The final Digimon evolutions are aesthetically overdone and wrought with too much details, unlike the clean designs of Pokemon. And anyway, Pokemon has its fair share of kickass-looking monsters.

So you like music that is a 3 second loop over and over?
And you probably think it's "catchy" because it has been fucking drilled into your brain every 5 goddamn seconds in the show.

No, I think it's catchy because it's actually goddamn catchy. You might not like the song, but it doesn't but no one else should. No need to be a dick about it.

I love both digimon and pokemon, i have to go Digimon all the way though, the games where fun and intresting and the show IMO up the tamers season was friggen amazing but after that....ehh...

I can say the same for pokemon, the games are awsome and the show was good (Not as good as digimon though!) But when they got to the diamond/pearl season with i think that annoying girl whats her face..dawn and her brother It just killed it for me, But again thats just my oppion

Yeah those are pretty beastly, but they look cool(?). In kinda a bad way, when I think of monsters I expect them to have giant f**** fangs, crazy anatomy, and anything else that is guaranteed to give someone nightmares.
