When it comes to the t.v. shows I always preferred Digimon, but I always like the Pokemon games better than the Digimon ones. A lot of people don't seem to like the third Digimon series but it was my favorite of all them. I always felt that there was an actual sense of danger in it while in the first two the main villians where always like "Mwuhahaha this plan will be your doom" and then when it failed they went on to form some other plan that would inevitably fail. The cards were a bit gimmicky but I still thought they were cool.

Edit: Also Calumon and Guilomon where pretty badass.

I say digimon for movies, and tv. The show was damn epic, and serious. I may netflix them now, that you reminded me of them. But why havent we had a good digimon, game? the content is there, so just make one. Who ever owns the rights hurry up lease.

you should play digimon world dusk/dawn (assuming you havnt) i kept on playing it way after finishing the story, i still dont fully understand the farm system either so theres probably still loads of stuff to do

I think I should develop what I said earlier about the Digimon dieing. Because Digimon can die, this creates a bigger emotional bond, making them just as vulnerable as the kids.

Because of the general age of people here, Digimon will be the more popular because its the more teenage/adult show where as Pokemon is firmly in the "For Kids" zone (not that this is a bad thing). Personally, I always enjoyed Digimon more and even watching it again as an adult, there's a lot to recommend it. If you're a kid and a fan of the games (like I was many years ago) then Pokemon is better. Nothing is quite as fun as watching the pokemon you play battling each other on TV. Hell, I still watch it occasionally and just fast foward to the fight scenes.

pokemon, digimon was good until they did the round the world bit, lost interest during that. pokemon was great but i lost interest after the Orange League. if i could watch one of the series again, i'd watch pokemon

I prefer Digimon, but it lost it's way even more than Pokemon did.

I can find any series after 3 to be in any way good (although I cannot understand the massive praise for Tamers. It had to grow on me over time due to the massive changes.), except I can laugh at the insanity of 4 due to how much the ones after it suck even more.

EDIT: Even the Digimon logo is aware of the varies levels of quality. The first 3 seasons having the same one, 4th and 5th each having their one ones.

Hell i loved 'em both when i was a kid and they still both have massive nostalgic value to me. The first digimon series was definitely my favourite cartoon and the first movie blew me away too. But, i stuck with pokemon longer (4 movies and 3 series) before i felt it had gone downhill, so i guess that pokemon wins by a sliver just because i enjoyed more of the material that came out of the cartoon/anime/whatever.

From games point of view, I haven't played a single decent Digimon game yet.

Have you played Digimon World 3? That's like the third best JRPG in my book.

OT: Digimon is quite awesome and had a WAY better story than Pokemon, better characters, better monsters (they can TALK) but got a bit over the top in the third season (not that it's bad). So yeah, Digimon.

A lot of the digimon is good, a lot of it is really silly. If you watch every episode Digimon is the best, but if not Pokémon is.
And btw, the Digimon games are extremely superior!!

i recently saw the first episode of black and white and got really annoyed I know it is meant for kids but when your program has been going since the early 90's you think they make more of an effort not to alienate the fans they had in the beginning
