It always sucked, with a few exceptions.

The Iron Giant is better than any 20 Disney animated films out there.

HATE FOR DISNEY BASED ON THE TELEVISION STUFF
As a owner of Disney stock, I must say that Disney is four (almost FIVE) different companies run under one corporate entity.

Disney movies fall under the movie studio division.

Disney television falls under ABC affiliate branch.

Disney theme parks/cruise lines fall under their own division.

Disney home movies falls under its own division.

Basically, when you hate on Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers? That's the Disney ABC affiliate division. When you hate on the Little Mermaid 3? That's the home movie division. If you disliked Wall-E or Bolt or whatever, that's the Disney movie studio division.

So don't hate on the entirety of Disney for the mistakes of the other branches.

Are you kidding? How can Disney lose when they produce finely crafted videos like this?

Wait! I think I figured out how to post vids finally!

Nobody cares anymore. It's all about brand, and marketability, and selling pencil cases with stock artwork made on the cheap. Disney as an Art studio may had dissolved a long time ago, but I feel like artists are starting to self produce without studios nowadays. Check out pay sites for cartoons like Cartoon Retro http://www.cartoonretro.com/ which charge a nominal fee like 5 bucks a month to be able to cover cost, and even share the creative process with the audience!

Let the Disney giant rest peaceably and reflect upon it's heyday of creative vision by making underpaid dancers recreate watered down stage performances of their classic works, and leave the frontier open for new artists to make a name for themselves!

Toy story forever! It had a cowboy and a guy in a space suit, what's not to love?

I haven't seen many of their more modern movies, and none of their TV programs, so I don't really know what 'modern' Disney is like compared to 'old' Disney. Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers don't sound like they'd be my cup of tea, but I guess Disney is a business, and it has to appeal to it's target audience.

Disney? I actually don't remember any real recent 2d animated features... it seems to all be Pixar or the live action crap.

Love Pixar though. Have yet to see a feature from them that I totally disliked, although I was not too big a fan of Cars either. My favorite from them has to be The Incredibles.

I know what you're saying. But don't forget that Disney, like so many other things, is a business. If the stuff they make sells well to its audience, it will continue to be made, simple as that.
Agh, Your right, Just hard to accept that because I use to love Disney as a child.

Let's hope the death of Zac Effron is the main "moral choice" in that game too. But anyway, Pixar should be coming out with some awesome movies soon. Up is one that I am eagerly awaiting for. I also hear Toy Story 3 is coming out in 2010. Something you need to remember: Disney's demographic is the kids up to 15-16 and people with the I.Q. under 73. So the real question: is Pixar keeping the essence of the Disney we once knew alive?
I believe they are, without Pixar, Disney would probably be swirling the drain right now. Hell they even know that, remember a few years ago when Pixar seperated itself from disney? Then disney came back crying and begging like a desperate Ex? yeah that was probably the greatest news story ever, hell i think they paid billions to buy Pixar out. Now from what i heard is that disney actually doesnt really control pixar, the people at pixar do whatever they want and disney keeps their mouths shut and distributes the films.

Yeah most of it is garbage but occasionally they throw something good out and don't forget, great things never last. Nothing compares to the old animated movies (except Lilo & Stitch) but the Pixar stuff is pretty good.

I'm gonna say 'most of it sucks now' because it does but that means some things are still alright. It's mainly because kids like most things that are stupid or childish so Disney can get away with crap but those kids will grow up one day.

My only real problem with Diseny is that they unleashed Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers on the world. And I will never forgive them for that!
Agreed. It's unfair that some people really have to strive for noticability, yet the jonas queers just got to piggyback off Disney's megafame.

Pirates Of The Caribbean. Jack Sparrow undoes all wrongs.
Damn, forgot to mention that. It's so radically different it escapes my Disney radar and soars into my epical awesome radar... and do I actually own both of those.

I'm not denying this - but I'm saying in that embracing... whatever the hell its general demographic is (Girls? That's all I can pick out from its programming and recent releases) is alienating its earlier ones - non-adults in general. Also, I'd like to propose that when you see a good Disney film (which, thankfully, outnumber the bad) you get a feeling for those for the rest of your days, so anyone who was a child in the good ole days, loved Disney, hadn't seen one for years, and turned up to Hannah Montana, they'd be outraged. I think perhaps that Disney has reversed and, instead of being a mark of quality, has become a symbol of corporate greed.

FUCK YES. I must see this film. And, yes, you are correct.

Fixed for you. And if Monsters Vs. Aliens says anything, the answer's a big fat NO.

Basically yes, in so far as they are no longer an animation studio.
Killing off their 2-D studio will probably prove to be a mistake eventually, it only takes Pixar's major talents being made a better offer and that will be that (Pixar is owned by Disney but it's creative staff are not held under binding long term contracts, it was one of the take-over stipulations).

As a brand though Disney is fine, they no longer need the animated films to survive.
