Disney movies are like Indian movies. They both have to have song and dance.

All the more reason for me to avoid both.

I just wish they'd stick with hand-drawn animation as I prefer it over CGI (yes even Pixar).
.
It may surprise you to know, then, that John Lasseter (PIXAR head honcho, turned Disney animation head honcho) is the brains behind saving hand-drawn animation in Disney! Before he took over all of animation they were making big moves to be computer only! (Mr Lasseter is one of my heroes!).
I already knew that, but I still think an animated film using hand-drawn rather then CGI looks and feels so much better.

I like singing! A lot of it is shit but sometimes you get that really good song.
Plus, not everything - no singing in PotC or Princess Diaries! <3

oooche my vote made is dead even. 54-54. However by the time I post this I'm sure that it will be outdated information

OT: I think that Disney movies when I was a kid (which was the early 90's) are the best of all of Disney's Animated features. The songs used to be composed by the likes of Tim Rice and Elton John. The quality of Disney movies declined starting around the time Tarzan came out. Since then, Disney has suffered from over commercialization of their franchises and a repetitive formula used to make movies.

The singing is part of the formula and the songs are not as good. That being saiJ: Give it a rest, Disney

Poll is biased haha.

It goes without saying that if you're going to see a children's Disney film, it's probably going to have one or several musical numbers. It's the companies bread and butter, and most of what they accomplish is actually quite good.

Lion King is probably one of their best examples while Hercules is one of their worst. It's all a matter of preference.

First off, not every Disney movie ever features singing, mostly just the cartoons or deliberately kiddie affairs.

Also, this is kind of like complaining that the musical you went to see has singing in it. When you go and see a Disney cartoon or Disney live-action/animation combined feature, especially if there's a U on the box, you should know exactly what you're getting yourself in for. I don't go to see The Sound of Music expecting to see a gritty reenactment of the Nazis rounding people up, I go to see Schindler's list, similarly I don't go to Disney to see an accurate depiction of a pride of lions, I go to Wild at Heart.

OP: you dont like it , ok. Still, it's your opinion.Your Poll is Subjectived and biased so it isnt worth shit.

Disney does what they do for a damn long time now, with huge success. They make movies for kids and their families, with a certain degree of musical in it. And it works. so why should they do it? Is it repetitive because every film has songs of its own? Is it repetetive that every damn star wars movie had music in it (end even the same damn themes for 40 years!!!)Is it repetetive that most Roland Emmerich Movies contain nothing but special effects?

There's only one Disney movie I can think of in which I think the music is a bit... unfitting. And that's Tangled.

Regardless, I never thought it took AWAY from the movie, and it may be a bit silly, but it works and that's what matters.
