Depends on how fast I drink them. A downed can of Monster will make me happy and jittery.

I would get Red Bull, but that shit's steep and for what? Spring Water? No thanks. I'll save an extra £.

Some do, some don't. Everyone's metabolism is a little different, and energy drinks come with a very quite range of active ingredients other than caffeine.

Tried it only on long road trips. Yes, it really works on me. Maybe it doesn't affect many people here because they have high-caffeine diets? Anyways, I tend to stay away from it, my body gets enough caffeine from Coke.

I own pure caffeine and make my own so yeah they do. I have a fre in my fridge that come in 300, 500, and 1K MG of caffeine with a 200 DV of B12 other than that they are just Monin syrup and club soda. But have one of the sissy sounding Rose and lavender flavored one (yes that is seriously their flavor) that come in 1K MG of caffeine and you will be effected have two and you may as well have just taken some speed.

I once downed 4 in about 5 hours. I punched a wall for no damn reason other than i feat like i was going mad I then ran 10 miles came back in went for a swim, fucked, went or another swim, tried to sleep and failed, wet to the bar, got wasted, fucked, went to my nest day of work, listened to concerned voice mails i neglected, talked about said emails, tried to sleep failed, then played WoW and TF2 till I was finally tired and it had been over 2 days since i last slept and passed out in my bed. Yeah not the best idea. But normal energy drinks have very little effect on me

They affect me. Regular energy drinks don't affect me much more heavily than a cup of coffee or a bottle of mountain dew, but I am never drinking a 5 hour energy again. I've got Tourette's syndrome and ADD, which is relevant because the amphetamine derivatives used to treat ADD interact badly with my Tourette's, making me bounce off the walls. Caffeine doesn't do it, but 5 hour energy does, which makes sense once you realize that one of the chemicals in the "energy blend" is a bloody brain chemical that was originally isolated as a stroke treatment in Japan. In most of the world, it's a prescription drug and a powerful stimulant. In the US, it's one of those "dietary supplements" that the FDA doesn't bother to regulate, and I learned the hard way that that one happens to work.

Edit: Oh, by the way, 5 hour energy is less of a problem than, say, Ritalin for me, but it affected me roughly the way ritalin does a person with a normal reaction to it, and I was physically unable to sleep for 14 hours after taking it -- which is impressive when you consider I drank the thing after 10:00PM at a LAN party that ended eight hours later, after having been up all day.

Edit Edit: And I can normally get to sleep no matter how much caffeine I've had, it just takes the edge off of the drowsiness for me.

I work weekends in a restaurant, it's tiring. So, I regularly drink two bottles of NOS a week, one bottle contains 266mg of caffeine as well as some other stimulants. This used to be enough to keep me energized for at least 9 hours, however I now find myself sometimes yawning after consuming the entire bottle. The problem with caffeine is that when you intake a lot of it you build up a resistance, it is technically a poison after all.

Yes. I've drank energy drinks for about 9 years. I can pretty much drink a can and fall asleep soon after. Actually I've even done that.

Of course they'll affect you. Caffeine and guarana do that to you.

It does affect everyone, but amounts needed do change, because of grown tolerance. I drink coffee every morning as do millions of people. You don't see that rarely making anyone bounce off the walls. The same goes for energy drinks.
Leon the Professional avatar eh? Great movie.

OT: They used to. I remember my first Red Rain. I was playing Guitar Hero 2 with my friend in his basement and we were flailing the guitars around and yelling. Awesome night.

Ever since then the effects have been slowly diminishing. They barely have any effect now unfortunately.

Yeah, they affect me. I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine. My hands start shaking after half a can. They were pretty helpful during exams, though.

They affect me. Less now because of tolerance.

They give me a buzz (or high, since I feel amazing for a few seconds) and then keep me up for a little longer.

I can count the number of energy drinks that I've had in my life with one hand and every single time it was a very unpleasant experience. I just don't see the appeal or benefit of ingesting these drinks and not taking something more practical like flavored water, coffee/caffeinated drinks, or sports drinks.

Not really. I've drank about 5 Relentless in a row before and still felt the same and went to bed normal.

People who have a bit of a can and get all 'high' off it irritate me.

Oh man do they, I work on really low energy, as in I can function perfectly without proper sleep and even without eating on the entire day, which considering that I have a job that requires me to be standing and walking all day is pretty impressive, but when I have an energy drink, I just have so MUCH energy that I have no idea what to do with, which normally ends up making me run in circles like crazy and then I tend to fall asleep afterwards, so I avoid those things like the plague.

I've got this disturbing mental image of someone lopping of your arm in a prison hospital for mainlining energy drinks. Then you're lying in a bed, sterile gauze wrapped around your stump as you sob yourself to sleep. MEH! Meh I say!
she'll call....

..no....she wont.....*waaahhhhhh*
