What's an Gif? Is it similar to my slideshow avatar?

.gif is file extension for the gif image type, gif images can have multiple frames that the image moves through at set speeds (or random ones if you want to do some really complex in-image coding... don't do that though) to create a movie, slideshow, moving thing, glowing thing et cetera effect.

Any image with movement is likely to be a gif, their quality ain't great though. And yes, your avatar is a gif

I'm normally fine with them. Some I even enjoy when I see them(I love the one of Luna dancing on the moon). I do also prefer them to loop well.
There are of course exceptions, mainly to the weird or creepy ones like the ones of of the camera flying into a creepy version of the queen.

Actually yeah it does suit you. I like the way you asked, sounds like something a Sith would sound like. Not to mention the Avatar stands out due to the details around the circular metal warping around Darth Maul.
