Poll: Do men actually think about sex every other minute?

Every other minute is a bit of an exaggeration (most of the time, anyway).

Every other hour is more accurate.

yeah, and your right. the Male has hormones that stimulate sexual urges instinctively, while the female doesn't; so scientifically, yes, we guys think of sex more often than females, but no, we don't think about it every minute of our day.

I hear a new version of this so often, some say every 7 seconds, some say every 30 seconds, others said every minute. It keeps changing and I still feel like its entirely random when I start thinking about it.

Really though, it depends. Sometimes, after every few minutes, and the mind will wander to sex. Other times, it can be hours before you do.

Its more dependent on whats going on around you.

Obviously not we would never get anything done. Im not gunna lie and say all men arnt obsessed with sex but this is a bit of a sexist attitude. I personally can go days without thinking about sex.

Well it's on my mind a lot, but it's not like it's all I can think about....part of being 17 I guess.


Personally, I think it's just that society is more tolerant of guys talking and joking about it openly. If it's guys then it's just "boys being boys" but if it's girls then they're labelled sluts, which is a shame because it can be a very enlightening and fun conversation topic if you hear it from a female perspective.

And from what some of my female friends have said, they've probably got it on their minds just as much as we do. The human race would have long since died out otherwise.

It's probably somewhat of an exaggeration something like that would really depend on the person in question. Though I will say that sexuality and attraction is pretty universal in human society so it popping up in thoughts and conversations frequently isn't at all surprising. The important thing to take from this though is that even if it were true it still wouldn't mean that all men are pigs who think of nothing but intercourse or sexual situations.

As a girl I originally just rolled my eyes when I heard this, but then i recalled back when I still rode the schoolbus and it really did seem that every conversation always looped back to sex or rape. The way I think of it, a person would have to be concentrating really hard on sex to actually think of it that often in a day but then again, I'm not a guy. What do you think about this?

I don't. I'm 19, and sex is the last thing on my mind. And I know that there are some trolls out there who either declare it gay, or that I'm lying. Well, I'm not. Why would I be focused on that if I'm working 24/7? So, madam, I am offended.

Don't usually just have spontaneous thoughts of sex, though it does happen. Usually requires being reminded of it by watching just about anything on TV anymore. (Besides MLP: FiM of course-- I hope...)

There are two kinds of guys who think about sex all the time: Those who haven't had any yet, and those who have lots of it all the time with many different people.

-Me and my friend are virgins. Last night we were hanging out, and at some point during the night we eventually, inevitably, started running through names of female anime characters, under the question "Would you do her?" And most of the time we'd answer "yes".

-On the other end of the spectrum, my other friend is a real player who used to go to wild parties all the time and also got laid all the time. And thus that's what he talks about. I, on the other hand, play Halo all the time. So that's something else I talk about a lot.

-But then I have yet another friend who's in a normal relationship with a girl he loves a lot, and he's never ever talked about sex before, except when I asked him if they'd "done it", which they do occasionally.

Here's the reasoning behind all of this. Whatever we want the most is what's in our heads. A lot of men want sex the most, either because they don't get enough, or don't get any, so that's what's in our heads, and that's what we talk about. On the other hand, when somebody does something all the time, even if they don't necessarily want it the most, that's what's going to be in their heads because of the repetition and the experience. That's why my second friend talks about sex, and I talk about Halo. Halo is second-nature to me, sex is second-nature to him. Lastly, those who have experienced sex several times, or are in a relationship and have sex regularly, are aware that sex is just a little bit over-hyped, and not worth getting worked up over. And those are the guys who don't talk about it much at all.

I might as well be a spam bot. I'll post on this topic as well. I don't think of sex for at least 12 hours each day M-F I get up at 4:30 am and get home at about 6 pm. I can think of sex during the drive, but I seldom do.

I could be overly optimistic, but I would hope that most guys only think of it when it is possible. I have time to think of sex about 3 hours M-F. At the most I spend 30 minutes on it, so you are a bit off on your scale.

I rarely think about sex, much less talk about it. Unless porn counts, then I think about it at least twice a day. Still, I rarely talk about either.
