If it serves a purpose in the story and fits, sure. If it's like.. say.. the sex in that shitty biker game that will go unnamed? No.
Touching? I thought it was purely exploitative. I get that they tried to satirize and trivialize it by making it a simple button prompt for everyone (even a floating robotic ball), but I got stuck with a bug that made me hear the audiolog of Kinzie lamenting that her one true love (Oleg) died with everyone else on earth that reminded me that that scene was just wrong...The Madman said:Saints Row 4 also had the surprisingly touching Kinzie romance.
On the other side of the spectrum, I mean Japan, they fear the sight of vaginas and dicks even if ALL THE BEINGS IN COSMOS knows what they are looking at.CritialGaming said:Except there is often far more outrage about fanservice than there is about actual sex. Hell they almost didn't even release the latest Dead or Alive Xtreme Volleyball titty game in the west because they were afraid we couldn't handle it. Do you know how many weird nude anime games get made and translated in english that the west never sees? Why? Because the West can't handle it due to a prudish immaturity regarding sex. And it is immaturity, plain an simple.SweetShark said:snip
About your question:
Both if the developers handle them correctly. It is what the people want if they play a specific game. If the players knows he expect fanserves, then the developers make worth the time the player "waste" in the game.
No problem for me if are good in other words.
What if you want to try them in real life with your loved one later? Although you probably won't find a reference as complete as Kama Sutra in games; but still, they may give you something interesting to try.Aerosteam said:Do I have to know what positions/moves they use?
Hey, what if you have a game that uses Kama Sutra? I imagine it a bit like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater where you you go around and do tricks on a skateboard, only you're not using a skateboard but other people. And no ramps but beds.CaitSeith said:What if you want to try them in real life with your loved one later? Sex knowledge I've gained in games I've played:CaitSeith said:What if you want to try them in real life with your loved one later? Tricky. I don't think THPS controls and physics would translate well for sex moves. Not sure they would be as satisfying, as the build up on the individual tricks ends too soon to be a single pose. But we don't want it to be too complex. i.e. ragdoll physics like QWOP would be fun, but it probably would kill the mood more often than not.DoPo said:Hey, what if you have a game that uses Kama Sutra? I think having an uncensored game like Lady in a Bind on steam is a good thing. It shows progression in the media. I'm not interested in the game, but bravo to the community and developer for getting a wide release like that.SweetShark said:On the other side of the spectrum, I mean Japan, they fear the sight of vaginas and dicks even if ALL THE BEINGS IN COSMOS knows what they are looking at.
But hey, at least now that a developer released "Lady in Binds" on Steam uncensored, things get better.
The important question is: Did you find your Wolf Girl to?
The Developers had a lot of work to do to leave it untouched for a Steam release I guess.CritialGaming said:I think having an uncensored game like Lady in a Bind on steam is a good thing. I don't know what you are talking about with the Wolf Girl thing. Is that a meme?
Jute88 said:I agree with most of what you said, but there is clearly something in witchers that witches find attractive instinctively, or atleast Triss does. In the book Blood of the Elves Triss avoids one of the witchers (can't remember his name, Co?n, Lambert?), but she senses that, whatever Geralt has that gives her this wonderful feeling, this other witcher has a lot more of it, and Triss doesn't want to ruin this special thing she and Geralt may have.
Even though I've read Blood and Elves I don't remember that, but I do believe you. I probably just expunged the memory of that detail from my mind because of how absolutely stupid I think it sounds. Sexual pheromones? Magic sexy touch? That really is some bad fan-fic level stuff. Eug. I guess I just prefer to think that's not the case, and since as far as I've encountered and most certainly in the games it's never brought up again, maybe others feel that way as well.Alma Mare said:Actually, yes. In Blood of Elves Triss aknowledges the touch thing when she notices Eskel has it to a greater degree than Geralt. It's not like an instant-death-panties-down-moist-klingon-vulcano touch, but it's definitely there. Jute88 may be right, maybe pheromones wasn't the term used, maybe it was magical in nature. The point remains however, that they have a 24/7 mild aphrodisiac going on, and the results tend to be a lot less awesome than one might think.
Well yeah, I was joking. Even in the game it's a joke. You're not meant to take the 'sex scenes' in Saints Row 4 seriously.hermes said:Touching? I thought it was purely exploitative.
This is really my feeling about all of the Witcher books. There's some cool world building going on with plenty of high brow social discourse that's constantly present, but ever so often it seems like Sapkowski gets a little carried away and just has to throw in some juvenile "cool shit" for some reason. The Madman said:Even though I've read Blood and Elves I don't remember that, but I do believe you.
