Just to point out, voice acting isn't necessary because remember when sonic was mute, then they decided to make him speak? Watch the ZP on Sonic Unleashed if you dont get me. I think they just better play it safe.

If I wanted to read that much text I'd go get a book. (Link can still be mute, for that matter make him left handed again)
He still is left handed.
Twilight Princess' entire world for the Wii is a mirror copy of the original.

On topic: No. I do not believe that adding voice into the Zelda games is necessary.
Then why was he still left handed in the Gamecube edition? Or better yet, flip it back.
... The Gamecube version of the game was the original.
Hence,

They are likely to keep Link being right handed for any Wii installments, as the majority of Wii players are right handed.
Which is irritating, as I'm left handed.
Yes, the heart of my argument is that, "That is Lame".

Whereas mine was both the fact that Link is still technically left handed, as no game has been designed in which he was originally right handed and the fact that your wording was poorly done, asking me a question I'd answered in the statement you'd quoted. Sorry that I'm being wankerish, I'm cramming for a physics test on Friday at the same time I'm doing this.

I have never felt so involved in a game as I have in Zelda. I have loved other games and played them religiously, but never quite felt a part of the world in the same way. I think part of that is that there is no 'mama mia' to distance you from it. The voices become how you want them in your head. Personally, I think it's a bold master stroke.

I live in fear of poor English voice acting so, no. It would be cool if Link could form complete sentences and thoughts though. "I don't feel like saving Zelda right now. If you need me for something else I am going to go sack this village."
Link walks up to Ganon: Alright, look, my life F***ING SUCKS! I mean Shesh, I'm pulled from my home, and forced to fight Giant monsters. One of them was a f***ing spider. I hate spiders! So please, I beg you, kill me. If you have any mercy left in you're heart you would kill me now.

Ganon: No.

Link: Screw you!

Battle begins or Link jumps off of Ganon's Tower.
Why wouldn't Ganon kill Link and guaranty his victory?

I wouldn't trust Nintendo (or most Japanese game companies, really) with producing good localized voice acting (reference: nearly all JRPG's and animes).

If, however, they want to mix up setting or characters so the games don't feel so formulaic, then I'd encourage them to do so, and if voice acting is for some bizarre reason a part of that, I'd just be happy that they're trying something new.

The lack of speach doesn't bother us, it's the fact that they're all practically the same, that annoys me. Try shaking things up a little more Nintendo!

Twilight Princess came close to speech by making the characters mouthes move so it looks more realistic but thats how i think it should stay.

No. The reason I am against such a change is because soon people will want over the top violence, crazy special moves, and more stupid shit like that. Legend of Zelda get charm points for not having voice acting. If you want to have voice acting, pay someone to read the text on screen as you play.

NO!
I think it would be a horrible move for the Zelda games, I think it helps with the immersion not having voices.

Do these games still really need to exist? How many times can you play the same game with remixed levels and items?
when some one says this I just point at the halo games.

on topic, I think that would be a terible idea to make the characters talk. look at morrowind for why very little voice acting is good, and then compare to oblivion.
Also, with the huge range of characters, the inevitable clone problem would pop up, ruining the immersion in such an awesome game.

Yes, as long as it's good. Ganondorf should talk, as should Zelda. All non-human characters should have dialogue taken away(except Zoras, they're cool), Link should not commmunicate in any way otehr than facially and they should ditch the whole magic lark and just have Ganondorf as a crazy Lord of the Gerudo whose using his deserty manliness to wage war on the noble people of Gondor... I mean Hyrule.

Well, if you look past - the Zelda games since OoT had some spoken parts, like Navi's "look!" or "Link!", not full dialogs though. I'm somewhat in between - curious how main characters would sound like, but at the same time afraid of terrible voice acting.
Insted of voices Nintendo should focus on music, the "Twilight Princess" had most tracks in midi format!

Full blown voice acting? In MY Zelda?

No thanks. I'm sure that Nintendo would agree. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mHw5g55oC4]

Would you want to listen to Tingle say ANYTHING?!?!? Navi?!?! That fucking owl?!?!?

Even if those characters aren't going to be in the next game(s), there will be others that fill the stupid void who should remain mute. The Zeldas aren't exactly script savvy...

Nintendo has already stated that they won't add voice acting to the Zelda games unless they can make them as interactive as the rest of the game somehow. Personally, I'd rather not see that happen. The writing in the Zelda games are top-notch already, and adding voice-acting may actually hinder that (If you're gonna come at this statement with a "Your just saving the princess again!" argument, don't.) That, and when I play through them, I imagine what the other character's voices sound like, and I hear them when they talk. In a way, it helps in the immersion, and adding VO could take that away.

Pretty much this is what I agree with. If you want to know what the characters might sound like, some of them do make grunts, yelps, or one-word phrases that help in that aspect. I completely agree with updating the music. There's absolutely no excuse for having such low-quality format for music in this day and age. Don't get me wrong, the music in TP and other Zelda games is some of the best in gaming history, but it's kept from being fully realized by the MIDI format it's forced to play on.
