Halo fanboys are the worst. You don't see Mario Galaxy fans accusing George Lucas of stealing Shigeru Miyamoto's ideas with Star Wars, do you? But Halo fanboys, when not pleasuring themselves to Bayonetta cut scenes, accuse James Cameron of stealing from Halo with Avatar. If you didn't know this, I'll add a pause so that that can sink in.
...ready?
'kay. Now I'll tell you what I like to tell these obnoxious philistines whenever I encounter one of them.
"Sit down, son, we need to have a talk. It's alright, no one's gonna hurt ya...so you like all this space marine stuff, huh? Would ya call yourself a fan? Yeah? I'm...guessin' you weren't around in 1986, were ya? No? Well, in 1986, Mr. Cameron made himself a movie called ALIENS. See, this film was significant for a lot of reasons, but chief amongst them were probably these 2: it was an instance of a new director stepping up to a franchise and actually improving it with the sequel, which hasn't been done before or since, and it is the single most influential work on any space-themed video game of the past 20 years. So ya see, Mr. Cameron actually INFLUENCED Halo, quite a bit. Now, son, are ya gonna shut the fuck up about the JC stealing from Bungie?" (gives noogie) "That's a boy."
