I'm just curious because I consider Yahtzee to be more of an insult comic and not so much a critic. He's certainly not a reviewer in my opinion. I love ZP and think they're mostly hilarious but it has little to no influence on my purchase decisions. How about you?

Reviews don't affect my decisions. The overall score at, say, GameRankings or Metacritic does. If it has a passable score (for me), then I will go around reading reviews to get what the game is about. I have yet to read a review of Yahtzee though. *Runs back into fortress and closes the door*.

no influence whatsoever.

wel probably some, subconsciously (he's a brainwasher!)

If he says a game is bad or mediocre, then I'll get it if I want to, because that's just par for the course for him. But if he says a game is good, then I know it's something special.

Only very generic titles that I was seriously doubting whether to buy or not. Like FEAR 2 or Resident Evil 5. Games I really want, I still get, no matter how Yahtzee thrashes them, like Bioshock 2 or GTA IV (loved them both, btw).
Also, he convinced me to dig out Psychonauts from the very back of my shelf, to which I am eternally grateful.

No, for two reasons.
One, I don't take anything he says seriously, and two, I haven't seen the last 20 Zero Punctuations.

I don't take any review into consideration when buying a game. What I mean is I take the objective facts about the game not whether or not someone liked it or hated it.
Yahtzee specifically mostly bashes games, so I watch it solely for its comedic value. As the man said he's a critic (I suspect he meant criticizer, as in he criticizes games) not a reviewer.

Not really, I mostly watch him mostly because hid reviews are funny as hell...

No, never. Partly because Yahtzee's tastes are totally different from mine (Silent Hill 2, one of the best games ever? Not for me, ta) and also because he exaggerates for comic effect. I'll watch him for a brief overview of what a game is all about, and for the odd chuckle, but I'd never consider his opinion alone when buying a game.

Only if he praises something, which due to his reviewing style indicates high quality. Considering that I play JRPG's and will continue to keep my Wii, I don't pay much attention otherwise.

I just see him as a comedian, and someone who has his own views. Simple as that. Like he said Mirror's Edge was, and I quote "An 8 hour faecel water slide" but I liked it.

I just watch it to show my respect for that sweet hat. If I want a game I'll pick it up and decide if its good or not myself since reviewers are just paid opinion holders anyway, they don't really have any great insight that we mere mortals are incapable of comprehending.

It may deter me if the review is overwhelmingly negative.

The trick with Yahtzee is to scale his reviews toward the positive side, if he is somewhat indifferent, the game is pretty good, if he at all likes it, it's exceptional, but if he absolutely hates it, it's usually below average.

For example, his Alan Wake review just put me off for that game.
