No, it's impossible. There are disincentive differences that separate us completely
Please, feel free to say what those differences are. And remember, this is taxonomical family we're talking about. No one's saying you're a monkey's uncle. At least, not unless you include uncle roughly four million times removed.

Haven't heard wiser words this week, thank you.

Descendants of Apes... or evolved from apes, but not apes.
No, we're not descended from apes, that's a common misconception. We humans and the other ape species have common ancestors, there's a difference.

I'm not sure apes would want to be associated with humans. We are like some annoying cousin that you would never invite to family dinners.

Yes, because we are apes. We fit into the definition of ape perfectly, so we are apes. We shouldn't be so elitist to think we are way above animals. We do have a larger brain capacity than anything on earth, but are still animals like them. We are apes. You cannot have a yes or no opinion on something that has been proven.

I tend to view this as a not-really-related-to-evolution argument. Although I do agree with the classification on a clearly scientific basis, I feel it's a little hard on us in terms of mental and emotional capability.

Well for starters, if evolution did occur then why aren't all apes human? Our skeletal systems are different, they lack the ability to learn, their hands and feet are very different from ours. Simple facts.

As the years go by we will be less animal, as to almost find no similarity between apes and us. But, yes, I absolutely believe that our biological ancestors were apes. Mine was a cute monkey named Bobo :D

Listen "In the Year 2525-Zager & Evans" :p
I agree. I believe that our ancestors were absolutely apes, but we have become different enough that I feel we should be classified in a different area than apes now.

For your first point, evolution doesn't say they have to. I'm not sure how your other points are really relevant, though I would like to say that all mammals learn.

But learn enough to have rational thought and contribute to society? Only humans have that, which is what makes us different from any other animal

Aren't we? I don't think I've ever heard claims to the contrary, exccept from from religious extremists on TV.

To which society? Greater apes have complex social systems and hierarchies. I also don't see where the word "rational thought" comes into play. Clearly tool use is rational, there's nothing irrational about using a stick to catch termites. Perhaps you mean "abstract" or "higher order logic?"

It still proves my point. The society of apes, if they had rational thought they would be using much more then their might to get things done such a searching for food

It doesn't prove your point, at all. I just told you that apes use tools, this is a widely known fact.
Here are some pictures.

Admittedly an otter, but the point remains about tool use.

Yes animals use rocks and sticks to further their food searches and eats. But just because animals use tools doesn't mean they can start a spoken language, writing system, and make contributions for the world
