I'd be pretty surprised if there weren't any aliens, in a universe as massive as this one it's highly unlikely that we are the only life out there.

Well, what do you make of all those alien abduction / crop circle / crazy stuff? And do you think there are other intelligent beings out there somewhere in the universe? Is SETI a waste of time? If there are aliens out there, will we ever make contact?

Quoting the X files, "I want to believe......"
i dont like the fact of the abduction/crop circle things are true.
no ones going to mess around with a planet that is the only one in the solar system + some that supports complicated life.
i doubt a universe that cant even be mathimatically measured we're the only planet that supports life.

EDIT: seti is alright.
i dont like them but i dont hate them.
I don't mind you quoting the OP with no specific points to argue, but your post doesn't even make sense. Read it yourself before posting it.
yeah sorrry bout that.
too much to drink when i posted that.
sorry for my ramblings.

Law of averages, of the trillions of stars in the universe at least one other must have a solar system with a single planet able to support complex lifeforms.
That's pretty much how I feel. It only makes sense.

Intelligent life will be more difficult to find as opposed to plant life or algae type organisms, but I do think it's out there.

And I'm probably just insane, but they may have visited the earth.

I see what you're saying. I was in a roundabout way questioning why you would need to see it in order to believe it exists? I'm just going to nickname you Captain Skepticism.
Lol, that's great! I've been called far worse things!

Belief isn't about proof. You wouldn't believe something after being shown proof, you'd know it.

Belief is about taking one side in something unknown.

On topic, I believe there must be something out there, but it's unlikely they'd've visited Earth.
So the words I choose were slightly out of context, fair enough.
Sorry if it sounded like I was having a go, I didn't mean it to come across like that :)

Lol, don't worry about it, I wasn't offended. It takes more than that to reduce this young man to tears... (hugs security blanket and starts rocking in the corner....)

In an infinite universe, it would be impossible for there not to be some form of intelligent life. Visits to Earth, however, thats still a great possibility.

Im a Christian and I believe in Intelligent Design, and also that there are other forms of life in this universe. Why would God only create one race of being for the ENTIRE universe? why would he do that? for an omnipotent and omnipresent being, that would get kinda boring, I think.
Well the thing you're faith is based on is the Bible. The bible states that God only created humans and angels, nothing else.
It does say that God created humans and angels, but where does it say that he ONLY created humans and angels? And if it doesn't say that, where does it say that he didn't create anything else? I don't remember the bible mentioning anything like what you said, so do you mind quoting and providing a passage for evidence?

It's impossible that in a Universe this big life wouldn't exist anywhere else. So yes, indeed I do believe that Aliens exist, tho they might has well be in a state similar to what we were in the "medieval ages".

1st of all tho, I don't believe aliens ever visited Earth. It would take long LONG years to actually reach earth. Then again, wormholes might be usable to do this?

But I don't think it says he DIDN'T create anything else. So as an ID Christian, sure, why not?

Lets assume for a minute that some where out "there" there beings on a form of information spreading technology (or whatever they have) discussing the possibility of our existence.

Other life in the galaxy: probably, Other life in the universe: Almost deffinitly, Other life in the "miltiverce" Absoloutly.

With no way to deny their existence and no concrete way to show they exist, I really don't know. If they do, they do. If not they don't'.

Yes, and you'd have to be truly ignorant to believe that we are the only intelligent life out there.
Why? The probability of life evolving from nothing is very low, and the universe is large but finite. So, it could go either way.

When you think of how big the universe is, its pretty illogical to think there isn't any aliens

Seeing that the univerise is more the "pretty big" I'd say that they are out there somewhere.

Other would be strange.

The "fact" that we're alone in the universe, such a large, infinite universe, is unbelievable. I mean, i can't believe it, it's impossible for me to accept. There have to be life forms on other planets.

(That picture on the first post is the background on my computer at the moment.)
