Well, what do you make of all those alien abduction / crop circle / crazy stuff? And do you think there are other intelligent beings out there somewhere in the universe? Is SETI a waste of time? If there are aliens out there, will we ever make contact?

Quoting the X files, "I want to believe......"

Only when I've been shown proof will I believe. Until then I'm quite happy thinking we're the only planet with life on it.

I think that if one takes in consideration how big the universe is, it is at least possible for there to be another planet with life on it.
Dont think we'll ever come in contact with it though.
And I think the whole abduction, crop circle , etc is a bunch of bullshit.

Some form of organic life is surely out there. In what form is an entirely different question.

I'm guessing the first form of life we will find is bacteria on Mars. What would happen after that only time can tell.

Edit: I do not believe Aliens have visited the Earth, and most pictures found of flashing objects in the sky I'm guessing would be spacedebris. Obviously I'm no expert, but I doubt any form of alien contact has been made, even if that contact is eye-to-alien spacecraft.

On another note, I can't create sentences today.

It is arrogant to believe that we are the only intelligent life in this universe. For this reason I think that aliens are very real. Wither or not they have visited Earth, that I'm not so sure about.

There must be something out there, the universe is a big place buddy.

But crop circles and abductions however I don't believe in that. Some crazy old coot taken prisoner sounds too implausable.

I'm the other way, prove to me that in an infinite universe we're so good as to be the only ones who have evolved life. And not just life, a mass of organisms all of slightly variations and differences.

I've always felt it naive not to believe (second time I've used that word today - not personally attacking anyone), though why they would bother coming down here to buzz us is beyond me. That said, we don't try and learn the language of lions when we head out into the vast plains - why should we be treated any differently by beings who would probably views us the same way?

Law of averages, of the trillions of stars in the universe at least one other must have a solar system with a single planet able to support complex lifeforms. I seriously doubt that they have visited Earth or abducted people, ever wonder why the people who get abducted are usually retarded or the product of three generations of inbreeding? Because they are retarded and mistake an acid trip for an abduction. All unidentified flying object sightings are reported by morons who are either making shit up, high, drunk or just saw a military aircraft being tested.

No I do not believe in aliens since it is nothing to believe in.
Due to the size of the universe, the number of stars capable of having planets capable of having life will be enormous, even if we set the probabilities extremely low.

Whether or not it is intelligent life is another story. And I very much doubt that they have been here since we have not heard them and if they are capable of travelling here, then we would have heard them long before they arrived unless they are capable of breaking the laws of physics which I seriously doubt.

I'm a believer...Not too hot on this whole abduction idea though, but I've seen stuff that doesn't seem terrestrial.
Yea me too. I live out in the middle of nowhere, and there is some stuff some night s that I can explain. It scary sometimes. But I think that the whole abduction thing is just something that drunken rednecks think up when wasted.

Im a Christian and I believe in Intelligent Design, and also that there are other forms of life in this universe. Why would God only create one race of being for the ENTIRE universe? why would he do that? for an omnipotent and omnipresent being, that would get kinda boring, I think.

It's impossible that in a Universe this big life wouldn't exist anywhere else. So yes, indeed I do believe that Aliens exist, tho they might has well be in a state similar to what we were in the "medieval ages".

1st of all tho, I don't believe aliens ever visited Earth. It would take long LONG years to actually reach earth. Then again, wormholes might be usable to do this?

Well the thing you're faith is based on is the Bible. The bible states that God only created humans and angels, nothing else.

It depends what you mean by aliens, for sure. Are there living things on distant planets, somewhere in the vastness of space? The probability is very high. Whether there are other beings out there with the ability to reason, or construct civilisations is less likely, but still a strong possibility.

Crop circles I agree with. Abductions however, well, I reference my comment about the Lions earlier. We don't tell the other Lion's where we're taking their buddy, we just flog him off and later send him back with some weird device stuffed into him.

Just something to think about I guess.

I agree it'd be odd for God to create only one planet with intelligent life, and they are probably no more advanced than we are and asking the same questions. As for crop circles they can be made using a board and rope, and two guys admitted to creating the hoax years back. As for Abductions, I think someone was hitting the bottle too hard that night.

I believe that humans would be arrogant if they considered the only intelligent life in the vastness that is space. However I don't believe they'll bother to come to earth.

that's kind of ridiculous though, isn't it? i'm not saying intelligent life or even life in this galaxy, but there are billions of planets in every galaxy and there are billions or maybe even trillions, or maybe an infinite number of galaxies in the universe

there may only be a 1 in 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,991 chance of life on a planet, but with an infinite number of planets i'd say those are pretty good odds
