As the subject says, post if you believe that time travel is/could be possible or not, and why.
A few rules for this thread:
Firstly your reason has to be either scientific, logical or a gut feeling. It can't be something retarded like "time travel is just in movies so it can't be real!!!"
And secondly, no insulting other people's views as there is no definate answer for now.

Personally I think that as time has been observed to warp or "dialate" in situations such as fast moving atomic clocks in orbit showing different times to those on earth, it may also be able to be affected in other ways, e.g. Bending it or folding it to send a body to a different time.

But that's just me :p what are you views?

I think time travel is possible, but I feel humans will never reach this point.

I feel that the biggest issue to work on with time travel is the fact that the time machine wouldn't exist in the past, so you could only go forward. There's also that little thing about how the Earth moves around in space, so the time you come back could be a time when it's gone. But I can totally see someone figuring that out and making millions, it's perfectly plausible to me.

By that do you mean we will not survive long enough to reach a conclusion about it/manage it?

For the most part, I don't put much stock into the idea though I do find myself facinated by it. I think the biggest problem with the idea is travelling through time and not space, like Back to The Future.
See, if you were to travel through time, the space you were occupying wouldn't even be in the same place. The planet would still be moving in its orbit and you would find yourself in outer space...did I explain that right?

You are time travelling right now, we all are. We are currently traveling at 1 second per second intervals into the future by our relativity to ourselves.

I think your poll traveled through time to somewhere else...

OT: Honestly, I have no clue. It seems to have a lot of flaws in it's theory but most theories have flaws. I really wish it were possible, that would be awesome.

It is possible. However, the math points to being unable to travel to a point before the time machine existed.

And my time is different than your time by trillionths of a second, so you may be ahead of me in time right now.

OT: Considering it is proven to be possible, yes.

And if we do, it will be so far in the future that it won't matter to any of us.

I'd give it 200,000 years, and see what happens.

Time itself is merely a human invention used to measure the speed of... stuff happening.
So you can't really travel through time. You make ice melt quicker, but that's not time travel, that's the speed of ice melting.
You can cryogenically freeze yourself for a thousand years and when you wake up go "wow, I time traveled."

Even say you flew into space in the year 2010 and had all the processes on Earth go backwards, and have stuff be just as it was in 1950. Still metaphysically it took "time" for you to "time travel" and your time is 2010.

Do you mean the ability to move backward in time? That may be impossible (thought here's no real physical justification for ruling out the possibility). Moving forward in time is very possible (I'm pretty sure you're doing so right now). Moving into the `future' is also possible by utilising relativistic effects.

Time Travel exists. You're going forward, aren't you?

Changing direction is tough; and keeping the same relative space in time is even tougher.

Doesn't mean it's not possible through physical law alteration. Supercooled fluids already disobey gravity.

Technically speaking time travel is possible, but you can only go to the future. See once FTL (Faster than light) drives are invented the users will be going faster than light and once they arrive at their destination they will be (technically) younger than when they left. I could be wrong about some of it but that's the TL;DR version.

There is a definite answer- it is possible.

The reason those atomic clocks are different in space than on Earth is gravity. If a human were to orbit a black hole for 10 years, when they came back, they would be 150 years in the future. The Cosmonaut that was on MIR for 18 months is 0.048 seconds in the future. Gravity warps time. Traveling backwards is not possible in our 11 dimension universe, only forwards.
