Like if you just sign on and notice and interesting topic title/OP but it has 157 pages, are you going to read all of that before responding?

Depends on a lot of things. How tired I am, how annoyed I am and how much I care about said topic. I normally read the first 5 pages of a multiple page thread just to get grasp on what they are talking about.

I'll either read it or just leave

None of that "tl/dr" Crap. Read it or go.

Oh, you mean the replys as well? I might read some, to make sure I grasp what the OP is saying correctly.

I usually read about the first three pages. If i'm interested then I keep reading. If not I post on the original topic.

It depends on the topic.

If its a poll such as this, I usually just wade in, read the OP, lodge my vote, give an opinion and run away.

For actual discussions I'll read a good portion of the posts and then post.

Works for me.

Change that 5 to a 1 and you've basically described me.

Erm, this has been done before semi-recently. I know because I started the thread, then I think someone told me it had been done before without a poll, or something. Here's the link:

To answer your question, however, I often read up to ten pages of a topic, and if it is significantly longer than I will read the last page so I can keep up with the current conversation.

Thread is way too long for me to bother.

Once it's reached the second page mark, I'll only look at a thread if it looks interesting or if I've already posted.

This only has one page so far. I'll read that.

EDIT: Does anyone feel they shouldn't respond if they haven't read all the pages? If so how many?

If it's an interesting topic that I think I'm going to reply to, I'll read all of it, if only to make sure I don't post something that's already been said numerous times before.

Depends on the subject matter, but I'll normally read the first page at least, and if it interests me, I'll read a few more pages.
