Poll: Do you buy your beer in cans or in bottles?

Simple question out of boredom really. Do you prefer to buy beer in a can? Or in a bottle?

Personally i buy mine in bottles , mostly due to the fact that canned beer is way more expensive where i live for some reason.

Cans, for the same reason you buy bottles; cans are cheaper than bottles where I live. And cans weigh less, easier to haul them home

We also pay a deposit on cans and bottles, so when empty, we take them back to the shop to get the deposit back. Again, cans are easier to carry back.

But I would definitely buy bottles if they didn't cost more than cans. I think beer (and soft drinks) just tastes better from a glass bottle. I don't know why...

If I'm feeling lazy or if I'm going out, I go for cans. Less price for more drink, but not as tasty. If I'm drinking at home, I go for bottles. They have a wide variety of beers around here and it's fun to try different kinds.

I don't drink but my friends that do pretty much only buy the (fancy) kind of Ales and Lagers that are only available in bottles.

A pint glass of course. And the beer should be at cellar temperature (unless it happens to be a lager in which case it may be slightly cooler).

Pretty much, I usually buy good beer and somewhat expensive (compared to swill like Coors) brews, which do not come in cans. Even when I do buy Budweiser, it is in bottles. Drinks in cans or plastic never seem to taste as good as they do in glass.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do I drink from a bottle or tap. I don't think I've bought a canned beer since I've been legally able to do so.

Sometimes. It's not really a question of containers, it's just that craft beer only comes in bottles, while shit beer comes in both bottles and cans, and craft beer is, by and large, better quality than mainstream. It is, however, much more expensive, both because of availability (craft beer has smaller batch sizes), and because bottles in general are more expensive. Microbreweries have been playing with putting their beer in cans for years because it's cheaper, but they haven't, because cans are associated with shitty beer and they're afraid it'll turn customers off.

Oh ye totally, I probably should have clarified what I meant. Companies put their premium quality beer into bottles.

A friend told me they package beer in the following order, bottles get the premium quality, kegs get the next best and cans get the worst. Now the worst doesnt neccesarily mean its bad, just of slightly less quality than what is considerred the best. I havent actually found anything to back it up and I was looking for a while last night

I love bottles of Heineken, but they are about ?22.50 for a box of 20 330ml bottles, I can buy some seriously cheap 500ml cans of discount larger for ?7. I find them alright but many people cant stand it, its an aquired taste I guess

Tramps drink cans! When I buy beer, it's usually proper beer, generally strong and dark. Decent beers only come in bottles....or from barrels.

Once again, not quite. The Heineken you get from bottles is the same Heinie you get in kegs or cans. It's largely a question of perception. And perhaps the way the container reacts with the beer, but I don't know for certain about that, you'd want a chemist's opinion.
