You don't call them fizzy drinks, you call them just plain 'fizzy'.

I call them soft drinks because I was briught up that way, but after spending too much time with you I occasionally call them fizzy.

i know a guy from michigan who says pop but is trying to say soda. i think he gave up. its a northern thing i guess.

I call it pop in general but specifically Dr. Pepper because if you just order pop you are going to get Pepsi or Coke instead.
Ordering Sprite was fun in England, they kept offering me lemonade. Which, turns out, is basically Sprite but the name alone made me give the waitress a funny look.

I usually say the brand name of what I want, but my default term of preference is "Coke." My grandfather worked for Coca-Cola, so Coke was all I ever drank until I got my own job and paid for my own stuffs. The impression lingers.

here in the UK soda means sparkling/fizzy water pretty much, so i either call it pop or by the name of the actual thing im drinking.

People here mostly call it soft drink. I think it's weird because I don't know what makes it soft.
