Poll: Do you Cheat?

Similar to the OP, I used to cheat alot when I was younger, mostly on games that would frustrate me. I remember I would always die in FF5 to this certain flame boss, so I just cheated my way through, similarly I would always cheat when I could as a youngster. Then I started to get older, and understood that I just needed a different approach, so I stopped cheating, and like to play through with the challenge.

Though cheats that alter what character you are and etc are still fun (though rare)

Sometimes on the extremely rare occasion, I'll use a cheat if I'm bored or I've already beaten the game normally just for giggles. I find it's much more satisfying to beat a game without cheating if at all possible.

I used to cheat. But now if I do, its only to give the characters big heads or funky costumes. Much more rewarding to do it yourself.

Most often when I cheat its because the game wants me to do something stupid, or its just not what I wanted. ( I used a trainer to unlock all space badges in spore, as that was the SANDBOX section of the game)

I used to cheat in games a lot when I was younger and didn't really care for actually completing but I've stopped. No more cheating for me.

Only on games where I feel I couldnt get any further without the help of cheats.

I use them when i've become bored with a game to see how bad i can screw it up. Like in l4d if you toggle noclip and fly out of map all your freinds instantly evaporate in a screaming cloud.

For me, I just use cheats to destroy everything when I'm bored. I usually try to tackle the challenges on my own.

Ever since the achievements/trophies system came out I haven't cheated on a game in 3 years.

Sometimes. Either if the game is REALLY hard, or the game is more fun with the cheats on. (See: Saints Row 2)

But it's not much to be proud of since I would probably have more fun if I did cheat, for replayability reasons of course.

I must admit though I did cheat before, but I had a friend over so playing by the rules wasn't really an option.

I cheat in GTA and if the Chinese Invasion counts, then in Fallout 3 too (in both cases it was worth it)

well considering the op basicly sumed up my whole feeling on cheating
if the game has silly cheats that are almost meant to be inputed the only games ive come acrost that do this are age of empires:cow catapult and super man also the spi car catapult and the first c&c:godzilla note these are games i played when younger but yeah i used to cheat but not anymore

I just use walkthroughs and get the silly cheats for GTA. I don't cheat multiplayer at all whatsoever!

Does a walkthrough count as cheating? Because sometimes I get really pissed of in RPG'S when I'm trying to find out where the fuck I'm meant to be going and simultaneously avoiding fights.

For example, I'm playing Lost Odyssey at the moment and I'm running around in a forest, not entirely sure what my aim is and the monsters just keep pissing me off.
