I made a game of cheating with my friends in saints row 2. With evil cars and unlimited ammo we would see who could get to the closest side mission on foot before they were rammed by a limo and sent sailing fifty feet into the air.

if i after 100 tries i still fail ill use a cheat, the last time i cheated was in half life : episode 1 at the last fight whit the strider, but that was because i haven't noticed the path that lead behind the trains to the bazooka.

but i usually avoid cheats unless im bored then a little bit of god mode and infinite rockets make the time pass so much faster.

I only cheat when I get bored with the game and still that only adds maybe 2 or 3 hours of fun to the game.
Take SR2 for example, sure the cheats are fun but eventually you've done everything possible including landing a attack fighter on the highway.

Only when I'm bored, or, in a game like Saints Row 2, I just feel in a bad mood.

God mode + Infinite Ammo + Infinite Clip + Vehicle Spawn + Insane Weather = Rampage/Fun

Only after I beat the game. Except in GTA3, the tank was just way too tempting not to use. I need to destroy three vehicles? Tank. I need to snipe a mafia don? Tank. I need to run over one measly drug dealer? Tank.

I voted never before I remembered GTA...
Spawning weapons and tanks in Vice City and rampaging was insanely fun.

Please stop with these "do you cheat" threads. There have been at least 4 of these in the past month. Enough is enough.

Now if I did bother to reply to this might has well say my stand, AGAIN, on cheating. IF it makes the game more fun then cheat. Simple has that. Is a game becoming to hard and you stopped having fun? Cheat. Are you bored and wanna have fun with your product(the game)? THEN CHEAT. Simple has that.

I have, but the answer is mostly no. Games like GTA are pretty much made for cheats. It's tons more fun that way. But I have also beaten all GTA games without cheats as well.

I only cheat in stupid situations like when im before a bossfight, but wasted too much bullets on the guards for fun, and i cant get more unless i restart the whole fucking level.
Or when i get bored or like a challenge i spawn some enemies and fight them.

COD 4 storyline. Fun. COD 4 Veteran storyline. Also fun.

COD 4 on recruit with Slow Motion, Infinite Ammo and Cluster bombs? Priceless.

i usually only cheat with games i've beaten. Best example: Oblivion. I just don't want to go trough that entire tedious tutorial level when i start a new character to try something. I KNOW i can do the tutorial without even trying, even on hard dificulty, so why bother. So for that part, i just boost my thwaking skills to maximum for a lot of damage and run for it, instakilling everything on my way there. The skills reset anyway, so it's not a problem.

I do get the idea that the better you get at gaming, the less you cheat, because you don't need to.

I used to have this snobbish stance on cheating. Then I discovered a jump a million stories high cheat on mario 64 and got addicted after. Then it died down when I played Team Fortress 2. There should be a law against that on the Xbox360. I know valve hate the xbox but the lack of updates for the console version and lack of protection against hacks is inexcusable. A team full of Snipers, all hits are critical, no gravity, it's not fun or fair. Needless to say I disconnect immediately unless I don't give a damn about trying to win, which is kinda' the point of Team Fortress 2. I still use cheats on my RPG's for the fun of it. It saved me hours of work on Disgaea. I can laugh in the face of 500 hour playtime obsessives.

Only in GTA, but in the latest incarnation, even that's fairly dull.
Where are the flying vehicles of yore?Nothing like gunning down a jet from a monster-truck..
