I usually start cheating after having beaten the game. But I usually stop again quickly because it gets boring as well.

Seriously, I have to cheat to find fun in some games, and that's not cool.

Ever since the achievements/trophies system came out I haven't cheated on a game in 3 years.

Bassically this , the first time i`ve cheated since then was to unlock the classic metallica skins for GH:M because i`m a shit singer and couldn`t unlock the awesome looking classic Hetfield

I only cheat if I've already beaten the game and want to mess around. In games like GTA IV, Saints Row 2, and other sandbox games, I'll use cheats just to have fun doing random stuff. Otherwise, no.

Like a lot of people here, only after I've beaten the game fair and square and feel like dicking around/pushing the envelope on the game. Never when the game is still fresh, and never, EVER in multiplayer.

There was once a time when the young me would make a pilgrimage, as it were, to the internet for cheat codes, but nowadays I'm just too lazy to get even that far. The only type of cheating I do would only be to help me find certain objects in a game, because a manual labour-filled hunt is for those with no internet and if not, foolish.

Nah, I never cheat on games anymore. When I was younger and I had my nose in a book all the time (thankfully Starcraft changed that) I would always cheat at every game I could because I thought it was "SO HARD."

Now I actually appreciate the difficulty of a game because it's the main joy of finishing it legit that keeps me going. Even if I CAN cheat, I just can't be bothered to look it up and put it in.

I used to when I was younger but I haven't used any cheats for years. I think it takes all the fun out when there is no challenge.

I dont,cheating is for people who cant take on a challenge and want the easy way out,i choose to have a hard time finishing something rather than cheat and not finish it at all

Wow, someone's all high and mighty. Most of us who have said we cheat do it when we've completed the game already, or when we just don't care about the gameplay and want to see how the story pans out. In Oblivion I wandered around for hours just randomly completing quests and battling the denizens of the world. I even did some of the major sidequests like the arena, the Dark Brotherhood, etc. but then when I just wanted to finish the game I punched in some cheats cause I didn't care about the main story to focus a lot of effort on it. When I was younger, I loved cheats because they let me beat games, but as I got older, and better at gaming, I stopped relying on them and only use them for amusement.

I remember that when I was young, I always used to use the cheats for every game. I would exploit the infinite ammo, the invincibility and the outrageous wealth that i could get at the simple input of a few buttons.

In the last few years however, I find it is much more satisfying to actually play the games and endure their challenges on the hardest mode I can handle.

I'm exactly the same.
I used to rent/buy a game, find cheats and then when I had them, THEN i'd play the game. I think it's because now i mainly play online games, and obviously, you cant really 'cheat' on them

i'm a never kind of guy, i look for them in case i feel like using them offline or something, or after i do the full game and online and get my points and such for proving that i could do it, so basically..on a save slot to just mess around when i'm fully done and bored with the game and am about to sell it, or if i'm offline and have no personal gain from it...then yes...but for real playing and for making things easier...no effing way

It is rare that I cheat, mainly because I find it removes the challenge from the game. The only time in recent memory I've cheated is in Grand Theft Auto IV, where all I did was generate cars and motorcycles to get around, and even then I only did it after I beat the game.
