For some reason whenever I play videogames with a friend the controller they use feels...gross after they leave. Whether it feels sweaty, or otherwise just gross I always have to disinfect the controller they use.

So I'm wondering if anyone else shares this need for cleanliness.

People clean their controllers?

Kidding. I don't often, but if anything gets on them I do. I also clean up all the old systems and controllers from time to time.

I clean my controllers about once a month, though it's not a super-thorough cleaning or anything. Just a couple of wipedowns with rubbing alcohol to cut down the general grime buildup.

I'm the only one who uses my controller, so it doesn't really feel gross even if it looks it. I really should clean it anyway...

I've occasionally cleared out the crap and gunk form the creases in the xbox360 controller

I'll occasionally him mine up with some Lysol and a paper towel, but that's about as far as I'll go with console controllers. For my PC keyboard and mouse I have a can of compressed air and Q-tips...

I just wash my hands before I play which means that I don't have to very often, and I have finally stopped sweating through my hands as much when I play which used to be quite a problem and made me have to clean controllers regularly.

I don't clean them. I live in a fantasy world where germs don't exist.

My parents have a dog with a skin condition. He constantly rubs his face against the carpet (hardcore) to scratch his itches. Sometimes he does it so much and so rough he gets blood everywhere.

On occasion, when I've left my controllers on the ground, the dog will use them as a scratching post. When my controllers are covered in his blood, yes, I clean them.

if they get nasty then yeah, like when drunk gaming my hands tend to get Jeremiah Weed/whatever I was eating all over them and thus when I pick up the controller all that crap gets on it. So.....yeah when that happens I just get some hand wipes and clean it up a wee bit. But on a normal basis...nah.....as long as it looks clean I am good

I'm a bit OCD about keeping most expensive electrical equipment that I have clean. So yes, as its a peripheral to my playstation 3, it has to stay clean!

From time to time.
I just get a Moist Cloth and Wipe them down, then dry them off.
I also get something pointy and clean out the Crevices around the Buttons and Analog Sticks.

I have cats that like to lie on my controllers some times so they often leave hair on them so I clear the controller off after they done this but other than that no I don't clean them. I guess if they got really dirty and sticky then yes I'd clear them but thats not often.

This is pretty much what happens with me, though I usually am pretty diligent with cleaning. Of course, there was one point where I ended up scratching the controller with cleaning some of the tougher gunk. Still works, since it was only on the surface, but it still bugs my palm a bit when using it.
