I'm a closeted nerd, thank god for the internet and forums. I'm socially active, play sports, work out and have a healthy relationship. But I also love video games, politics, super heroes and just general geeky things. Closeted nerds everywhere unite.

Yes, because all I do is sit around playing Xbox 360 in my basement, but then again I do go hang out with my friends, mainly play dodgeball, and football. Thats about it.

Someone who has a girlfriend *zing*

I'd call myself a nerd. Top of my class, always got my nose in a book.
And I don't use wikipedia as my dictionary
That's not a title.
"Hey nerd!"
"Hey dick!"
"Hey someone who has a girlfriend zing!"

It just doesn't work.
You know that.
Oh boy, pedantic wars! :p

He had said term. Not title.
Term- a word or group of words designating something, esp. in a particular field, as atom Title- in physics, quietism in theology, adze in carpentry, or district leader in politics.
a descriptive or distinctive appellation, esp. one belonging to a person by right of rank, office, attainment, etc.: the title of Lord Mayor.

Now there's a difference between the two. A title you can call someone anywhere, a term can be used to describe them.

*continues to derail thread for the sake of his own nerd-dom*
*begins to wonder if changing this to messages would be better*

That is because you sir, are boring.
I just feel this need to be right. It's almost like I pursue "intellectual activities."

Of course not, that's what Wiktionary is for.
Ain't got shi* on Urbandictionary :p

Oh and just to be further arrogant, I say that mainstream gaming does not make you a nerd. Neither does halo wars.

Okay, you may be unaware of this, but this is kind of what I do.
Derailing threads, or causing others to do so, is my shtick.
Honestly I don't really care that much, you can't change the votes and thats where the Information is. Plus it keeps the thred near the top of the list.

And you are quite good at it, too! Makes the threads more fun to read through, in my opinion.

Wikipedia says, "Nerd is a term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests rather than engaging in more social or popular activities."
So, I suppose I am a nerd.
i am one without fail.

if someone thinks that playing halo wars makes you a nerd they should be beaten with the gamefaqs strategy guide of starcraft because hitting them with the game case would be a step up for them.

I'm half a nerd. I'm smart, but I have many friends, a majority of which are the last people you'd consider nerds.

Yes, and I am damn proud to admit it.

Off topic, I love these "Your argument is invalid" pics.
