Yes, gaming is much more mainstream, but the fact that we are all actively involved in a gaming website is not. So yes. I am a nerd. We all are. I see nothing to be ashamed of.

Yeah, that is just little bit beyond my capabilities.
It seems a lot of "American" TV actors are actually English.
Hugh Laurie, Amanda Tapping, Lena Headey, etc...
They're good at hiding their accents.
Hugh Laurie is a god among men, and... I didn't know Amanda Tapping and Lena Headey were English actually, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Last I remember Joely Richardson could mask her accent very well too.

I would say so, but apparently some of my friends in university and the general public disagree.

Friend: You can't be a nerd!

Me: Why not?

Friend: You're black!

Me: ...

Although I do sports, so does that put me between a nerd and a 'jock'? (always sounds foreign to me, do any Americans use that term any more?)
Yes, I believe we do.
However, "asshole" also serves the same purpose as calling someone a "jock."
I am unsure what the new term for atheltic-people-who-are-not-assholes is.

Also

Absurdly

Hot.

It is almost ridiculous.
It should be illegal, to be honest.

Almost to the point where it should be illegal.

No, and I take offense to anyone who tries to classify me as one. You want to stick a high school stereotype on me, I prefer "jock" since sports are my strongest interest.
Exactly. I don't really fit into any of the classic roles. I'm like a nerd-jock-regular person hybrid creature. Honestly, very few people fit into the classic high school stereotypes, and I feel bad for those who do. They're missing out.

I'm gonna say yes, relative to my friends (who don't play video games or know how to use computers). However, I do sports and go out way too much.

I'm not really sure in comparison to some people to be honest, buuuuuuuut - since I'm posting this and on this forum at all I probably have to be a nerd anyway!

Guys, guys, guys, let's all settle down and go over standard operating procedure. Remember, you can't properly jack anything (train, plane, or thread) without killing the operator first. Jeez, people, what do they teach you guys at Derailing School? Now go shoot the OP!

I am very nerdy and I am quite happy to admit that. When someone asks what I'm into I will say "Music, Bass, Videogames and D&D."

I think nowdays, seeing as it isn't the 70s and 80s, the nerdism lines are much more blury. Nowdays you have people who play D&D playing bass in funk bands, people who play Warhammer have black belts and people who play Magic: The Gathering now have girlfriends. I think these people are still nerds, but nerds in this age don't run around with massive glasses doing science experiments.

In the 00's and upwards, nerds can be pretty damn cool!

Which part fits you?
The "I know a lot of pointless trivia" or the "I never go anywhere."
According to this, I am a nerd since I know a lot of pointless trivia and I never go anywhere and I game... So yeah, I'm a nerd.

I am such a nerd.

I play DnD.

I watch Star Wars and know tons about the lore.

I am slowly becoming a Trekkie.

Perhaps one day I will be crowned king of nerds.

I'm a stylish nerd. I'm an accepted part of society with a job and a potential mate (of the female gender!) but on weekends I sometimes lurk or troll, and I do pursue esoteric and obscure intellectual interests.
