No. At my school our age (year 10) level stick together, yes, we do have good friends who we spend a majority of our time with, but no one realy fights. It's the little ****** year 7s and "I'm top shit" year 8s that piss me of.

Oh my god, I hate teens so friggin' much. No one can get along, no one can just get through the day without trying to act like a dick to be "cool". I was mugged by a group of my age group last week, if that isn't fucked up, I don't know what is.

That's a definite YES... I'm 16. No one in my age group has any common sense, any Idea of what they want, and also lacks in moral discipline. Ever since the day I turned two, my dad would beat the living hell out of me. It's not because he was abusive, it was because I did something wrong and I had to pay for it. And looking back at that, I'm glad he did. because now, I can walk into school, and safely say that my age group is not only the most oblivious, but also the most obnoxious.

16 and i bloody hate my age group. Most of us seem to be a bunch of retarded knobs that can't get our own heads out of our asses.

Every age group is filled with what OP described. Being a jerk doesn't change with age. They just become jerks in a manner that's more socially acceptable.

Yes in general, no to my school.

I go to a sister school off of a bigger school, so all the popular kids have no friends. We are all average at my High school, and now all the popular kids are the ones rejected from groups. Its a sight to see.

Once your there, you realize that really its the idiots that give you the bad reputation

Depends. Most of my good friends are my age and I don't have a problem with them, but those whiny little whores on Xbox Live make me want to punch someone in the face. I guess it just depends on where you live. Although, my friends and I are idiots too, like how I put a blade in the tip of a nerf gun dart, or when we played russian roulette with my friends nerf gun, but we didn't know it was modded to shoot 3 times harder so my friend shot himself upside the head and gagged (not with the razor dart, which I lovingly and nerdily refer to as the U25 Killshot. I'm a noob.)

Well, I haven't met most people in my age group, so I don't know. Besides, hating takes alot of emotional work. I prefer to just not care about people if I can't feel positive things about them.

Heh, this quote made me laugh. Of all the replies in this thread (and dear God, there were a lot of them) this was the one that highlighted the problem best. This is the problem with the Escapist forum, and clearly it bleeds into real life: everyone considers themselves to be so much damn better than their peers, whether it be IGN or people your age. I've seen threads on Giant Bomb and 4chan, to name two places, where people have laughed at us for the same attitude we find so incredibly 'mature'.

It just makes you wonder, is the same thing happening in real life to you lot here? Because really, I wouldn't really want to hang out with somebody who I know is judging me.

ITT: We sugarcoat our opinions to get this forum's adults off our backs.

Yes. Yes I do. With the passion of a million suns. I think I'll save the details for another thread.

Uhhh, can you clarify that for us, please?

It seems like a lot of the people in my town who are of the same age never matured. I feel like I'm around a bunch of drunken lunatics at times.

I don't hate them but I certainly don't feel at ease around them. I like being able to, you know, talk to people in a meaningful way.

From the experience I've had with people my age,I say yes. I hate my age group with a searing passion. People my age would much rather hop on the bandwagon, and hang, draw, quarter, and defenestrate those who pull out their own drum,so to speak. Furthermore,I live in an area where free-thinkers and gamers are rare breeds. If I say "The Legend of Dragoon",I'm usually greeted by blank stares or faces that silently scream "WTF?" If I say "Gothic II:The Night of the Raven",people think I'm talking about some novel, and not the brutaly hard game that it really is. I say "Modern Warfare 2 is a poor excuse of digital entertainment",I'm likely to get beat over the head with a ten kilogram lead brick contained in a sock.
My peers need to learn how to diversify, and accept other concepts.

I don't hate my age group, because I know most of us will grow out of all this and turn into respectable people.
Teenagers always have.

Not trying to judge. just saying that of all the people I know who are my age, their parents almost always get what they want. And when the parents are tring just to talk to their kids and hear a " thank you" come out of their mouths, their lodged with more inconsistant whining about how something went wrong or how they want another thing that costs a frickin' arm and a leg. My dad always told that If I wanted something, go get it. Earn your pay, earn what you want. Ever since that, at age 7, I'd run a lawnmower. now, I'm working two jobs, one's at a Gamestop right down the road from my home (thank god!!!), and I clean my church the night before every service. WheN I go to my school, None of the kids I know have a job, except for one or two like minded individuals with parents who Tell their kids to work. Now, I'm not saying I'm better than any person in this world... I'm saying that I do What I can to get by while other people complain about what's going on in their lives. I'm sixteen, and already have the cash to get at least an apartment once I turn 18. I've already got my car. So, no. I'm not being judgemental, I'm saying that my age group is full of ignorance.

What I mean by that is that My dad is extremeley strict. If I did anything wrong, I caught heck for it. Is that better, Ward?
