I like to drink beer because it tastes good. I don't like getting really drunk but I'll definitely drink some nice beers with my friends.

Getting hammered is fun. I generally get absolutely smashed several times a week.

...But each to their own. My girlfriend doesn't get hammered and as a choice, there's nothing wrong with it.

Nope.

I've had a sip of scotch and it was shite.

Not my thing. To each their own.
I drink regularily and absolutely can't stand the taste of scotch. Just sayin'.

I drink about 4-5 beers per week on average I'd say.
I rarely even get drunk (maybe once every couple of months), but god damn I do love beer.

And the shop near us has an offer for 20 bottles of miller for 15 euro.
Ah, good times.

I'm under age and drink a lot, I guess it's more embedded into British culture than it is to the USA's

Everyone needs to lose control every once in a while. Whatever your chosen method of doing so is fine by me. (within reason)

Lol so many people going "no cuz it tastes like shit." You take a few shots, you chase it down with some juice, then you get on with your night with a........a new perspective.

I've tried wine, beer, and champagne, all of which were disgusting. I know it probably doesn't taste good to most people and they drink it for the buzz, but eh. I personally feel that if you need to alter your sense of reality in any way, you need to to some kind of help.

P.S. I don't buy that whole, "drinking is genetic" crap. There is nobody in my family that doesn't like the stuff (that includes aunts, uncles, grandparents, and even a few underage cousins), and I find it utterly repulsive. Hell the one time I actually drank a whole cup was at new years, and not only was it terrible, but the stupor it put me in was just unpleasant.

I do drink but it always depends on how busy I am and only one or two. For example, during a semester, I don't drink as I am in lectures and labs from 9a.m until 5 or 6 p.m with usually only a 1 hour break for lunch. I do not want to have to go through that with a hangover or drunk. I will drink when I am on holiday, I have a few with my dad, and maybe a few friends, but I prefer to be sober. However, a drink with family and friends can be really nice if everyone is responsible :)

I do, but I'm a bit of a snob about it, when I was younger I could drink any old rut gut that got me drunk, now I'll take a can of coke or a glass of water over the $15 bottle of whiskey. So I rarely drink now, because it's too damn expensive to buy good scotch and vodka regularly.

I haven't tried any, being underage, but I do know what Science says about Alcohol.
And Science tells me that getting drunk impairs every sense I've got, and makes a royal moron out of me.

So, no, I'm not going to drink the mind-altering, liver-damaging gook, that provides only temporary and meaningless escape from the trials of life.
