Sadly, an automatic. I have gout so flare ups mean I can't push in a clutch if it hits my left foot. Manual is way more fun especially in powerful cars. Hell, my first two cars were 5 speed manual transmissions. I sorta miss the shifting. Sure my automatic has a manual shifting aspect to it but it's not the same.

I drive an automatic, but i much prefer manual. Unfortunately, manual transmissions are next to impossible to find in the US outside of coupes and actual muscle cars. 4-door manuals are rare.

I learned on both, and for a long time the car I usually got to drive was an old manual. I'd say I actually drove better on manuals but in the past decade I've only driven one once. I kind of miss them, but I'm happy with automatics.

I learned both but I prefer manual. Which is why it took me forever to replace my old car. I refuse to drive automatic unless its a case of a friend is drunk and that's the only way to get us both home.....seeing as how I'm typically the sober one....

Currently I drive automatic. I can drive pretty much anything manual short of a semi. I actually had to learn extremely quickly when I bought my old Lancer.

I learnt on a manual, but despite having driven a fair bit in my father's relatively new auto, I'm really not sure what I prefer. I like the laziness of the auto when I'm feeling lazy, but I also enjoy the extra control of the manual when I feel like it.

Eh, conflicted.

I don't drive but manual. I always mess up the clutch when I drive automatic.

Manual.

I've never driven a car with an automatic transmission in my life, and I don't plan to. I just don't trust technology to make that kind of decision for me.

Learnt in a manual, only ever driven manuals, and while legally i'm licensed to drive Auto's i wouldn't know where to start lol. I personally never want to drive an auto i think i'd feel disconnected from the experience, and i love driving manuals.

When I was purchasing my car (17 years ago), the manual transmission mpg was 45 and the automatic was something like 38.

Since I knew how to drive a stick, I thought the extra pocket change would be nice. Seventeen years later and the car gets about 40mpg.

I lot of vehicles on my farm are manual and I know how to drive them.

However whenever I go places I drive an automatic just because I'm lazy.

neither the cars i have for fun are flappy paddle so you cant call them manual since the clutch is automatic but they are not automatic because i control the gear shifts

though i do have an auto gearbox run around car for the city since its more efficient and less of a pain in the arse in those conditions so i suppose that's the option for the poll

I currently drive an automatic, but I don't think it quite fully understands the concept of changing gears when it's supposed to. Automatics are nice, but I think the next car I get is going to be a manual. I know how to drive both, but manuals are more fun.
