Automatic. Living in a city, driving a manual seems annoying with all the stop-and-go traffic (or at least that's what it seems like when I ride with my roommate in his Jeep). I drive an automatic Honda Accord (soon it'll be an automatic Element).

I drive manual.
Because I am British.
All British people drive a car the correct way, with a manual gearbox.
Fact.
No they don't, because they don't drive on the correct side of the road. :p

I drive both. My 84 blazer (technically an M1009 but whatever) is automatic. My 70 something classic Mini is manual. I have to say in my opinion it all depends on the vehicle itself. I don't believe if my Blazer was Manual it would not make it any better (at least as far as how I use it) and possibly just be an annoyance. On the other hand with my Mini I love it being a manual, and would not want it any other way (not that I would not accept automatic mini if someone gave it to me). I do see some misconceptions about automatics though. Mainly that they are less fuel efficient. While that use to be true with modern cars automatics are just as fuel efficient and in some cases more so then manual cars.

Automatic.

Every friend I have that has a manual that I've driven with their car feels like something is breaking every time they change gears.

I currently drive an automatic 1997 Toyota Carrolla but as soon as I get my VW Bus I am going to be driving manual.

Manual; learned to drive with it and I doubt I'd ever change; I just like the feel of it.
There is something very satsifying about driving a manual. Some would call it a form of zen, others might call it 'mad skillz', I just like the way it feels when I do everything absolutely perfectly. It just feels ... right. Almost a home-y feel to it, like when you sit out back with your a warm cup of coffee and toast, with the warm sun taking the chill off the winter morning.

OT: Manual. I don't really like to drive, but one thing I do like is that feeling of control and precision that a manual brings.

I think you'll find we do! How are you going to use your sword hand to cut down oncoming bandits when you're driving on the right?! :p

If only you could drive on the right side of the road.

Well, I drive an automatic because it's really difficult to find a decent second-hand manual car, and manuals are usually noticeably more expensive. I prefer to drive a manual, though, and my license says I can.

I drive manual because it's normal in Germany. I've never even drove automatic once in my life. Guess it would be useful in those "almost traffic jam" situations where you work the clutch so often that the leg starts to hurt.

Don't really understand how one can be to lazy to shift, for me it's almost subconcious most of the time.
