I personally dont give a rats-arse so long as your not right next to me, blowing it in my face. If you are blowing it in my face on purpose I'd probably grab it and stand on it followed by the entire packet meeting water.

.....Im a non-smoker If anyone hasnt caught on.

The problem is that smoker or non smoker, most people are nobbers. You wouldn't need laws on smoking if smokers were a little more considerate, and non smokers a little more tolerant. Back when you could smoke in public buildings in England you had ash trays in Burger King. Although I could light up after my burger, I didnt. As far as I was concerned I was in Kiddy territory and didn't feel it was appropriate regardless of whether I was allowed to or not. If I was in a pub (read:legalised drug den) I felt I was in an appropriate setting, and smoked.

Hmm, as to the stench, I believe it must range between the type of smokable. For example, my cigars and pipe tobacco smell amazing and attract most everyone at the party to hear my stories and experience my delusions of grandeur. Luckily, I can honestly say I'm not addicted. I smoke on occasion but I have never had a craving for it.

Anyone telling me to take a hike if I'm outside, though will be met with liberal amounts of laughter.

EDIT: Mind you, I'm still mindful of people. If you don't want it near you and I'm outside, you'll only get the residue in my clothing. Also, folks, brush your teeth after smoking, it dulls the coming of the yellow teeth!

When I smoked, I did it respectfully knowing that a lot of people don't like it. Never in a building, not near entrances, I even hid the cigarette if a kid was looking at me. I like smoking. I would still be smoking if it didn't affect my running. I don't care about the money, the cancer, the smell. But it affects my 2.4 km run too much to bother with. Sure could go for a B&H right now though...

I dislike it when people smoke around me, because I die upon inhaling smoke (damn asthma).

A whole whackload, however, don't care.

So I feel discriminated against by smokers. Take that.

Smoking in places like bars and restaruants is illegal in Minnesota. It can get cold going outside for a smoke in the winter, but I learned to cope.

I have a blatant disregard for everyone who feel the need to preach, so if anyone say anything to me, I take a big puff and blow it right in their face. I wouldn't suggest someone who is small to do that. I happen to be 6'3" and lift about 10k lbs. a week. Aside from that, I don't try to be obnoxious with my habit, just as I'd hope someone wouldn't be obnoxious with theirs to me.

Actually, yeah. Alot of smokers in my area are asshats who make fun of pipe-smoking, damn it! I thin kthose are just the ones who smoke for rebellions sake, though.

I voted no, only because I've never smoked. I have no problem with smokers, either. Sure, cloves are a little too strong for me to breathe, but otherwise I don't judge people.

I'm a non-smoker and I really don't see the appeal of smoking. With that said, I don't discriminate against smokers, but if you're blowing smoke in my face, it doesn't matter who you are, you can't expect me to treat you like I would the average guy who isn't blowing noxious gas my way. If you do it out of the way of most people, and don't leave your cigarette butts everywhere, I don't care, they're you're lungs and the case gives you ample warning about the dangers of cigarettes.

Also, I'd never preach to a smoker, as I hate preachers, and anyone who isn't deaf and blind knows that smoking is bad for you.

So you see not quitting as a sign of weakness?
Didn't say that, just that they have the ability to not smoke if they wish to not be discriminated against. It's not something unchangeable, like race.
Ok... so do you have a reason for discriminating against smokers?

In January my state (North Carolina) is going to make it so all restaurants are smoke free. This sucks and here's the thing. Sitting in the smoking section is great even for non-smokers because the smoking section on average has fewer crying children. They are bad for the health of other people due to second hand blood pressure. I know that smokes choose to smoke but people also choose to bring (to quote Peter Griffin from Family Guy) "little baby son of a *****" with them.

I used to smoke and will always defend smoking and I feel this new law is completely unfair.

I hate it when all my smoker friends tell me I should start smoking. Even my co-workers ask me when I'm going to start smoking cigars on a regular basis and it's annoying as hell.

I feel sometimes irritated by no-smokers.

EDIT: I frogot to but up my experiences while I don't feel Discriminated against besides the daily reminder that I should quit, even the warning on my ciggerat box just says "Quitting smokeing now will reduce the chances for cancer" besides the old one where it just said may cause.
But ever time I go on to a forum about smoking the non-smokers seem pretty hostile sometimes.

OT: I try to be curdousy as possible when around none smokers which is easy since I leave in a small town comprised of mostly smokers and I never smoke indoors no matter how cold it is outside.
Smoking is a personal choice, which has a direct negative effect on the people around you.
second hand smoke can cause lung cancer.

if you make a personal choice (especially one that has a direct effect on other people) people should, can, and will "discriminate" against you. stop your bitching.

To be perfectly honest, I'm a nonsmoker and discriminate against smokers. I see it as something that people have control over, and can change, no matter the difficulty.
Addictions are funny things, firstly you dont realise your addicted till you are well and truely hooked, secondly when you do you find it is hard as hell to quit because you enjoy it and makes you feel better than when you don't have it. am trying to quit at the moment on my girlfriends encouragemnt/assistance. Withdrawl is absolutley horrible. only people who have never properly smoked take the whole better than though you weak degenerate stance.
withdrawal isnt that bad

your over dramatizing it unless you are smoking over a pack a day
The actual withdrawal isn't bad, this much is true. It will cause crankiness and a fair amount of discomfort in general but nothing that cannot be overcome. These symptoms pass quickly. The true problem that must be overcome is the habit itself. Simply put, people who have smoked for long periods of time will run into crisis moments every time they get in their car or visit a bar or perform any activity they subconciously associate with smoking.
